My return for my last Nova build!

Well, after buying and selling many Nova's and always coming back i've come back one last time.

As found on PNG....

Started with seeing Dan (coochiSR's) Nova in the For Sale thread, promised it was mint, I went 300 miles to see it, and another 300 to pick it up. This is how I found it:

Got it back last night...in the rain but then I put it in my nice warm dry garage and went to bed, got up this morning and went for a little drive:

Went to my bodyshop booked in less than 24 hours after owning it!

So it begins:

Start off, 1 mint Nova, go rust hunting....

Grille out, no rust yet...

Headlight surrounds, urr no rust...

Front panel, nope not yet...

The bit I thought would be rusty...

Battery tray either side, minor bit of surface rust around clamp

Windows out ready for surrounds and rubbers...

Front panel, absolutlely mint, same boths sides!

So thats day 1! Next day is time for engine out, and further prepping.

All in all I've found about 3 bits of rust, stupidly clean for 20 years old and 60k in.

Cheers

Well had a suprise today, seems my bodyshop hasn't been too busy and he's cracked right on with my car.

Went today thinking I need to do more work, it all had mostly been done! Engine has been out, sadly haven't taken the servo out, but, he assures me he can paint it well enough just masked up. We shall see...

However pics do the talking...

And a few with the colour on the car, in Keith stylee, its black and white for a bit :P :P

Cheers

Properly cracking on.
Looking at the b/w pics, it looks like a dark colour. Blue/Green maybe

Just a small rant, but why oh why do bodyshops scrimp on such a small area of panel/paint?

Why couldnt they properly key/sand the flitch on the bonnet & give it the attention the rest of the bonnet got?
