As you can see, this poor toolbox has seen better days.
Back when it was first created it was the picture of awesomeness, carrying round tools so my old man could work on his Escort with Mexico arches. It has led a full life, and each one of the scratches and marks carries a story.
Unfortunately, it's tool carrying ability has recently got seriously limited by the welds breaking on one corner, leaving poor Tooly to gape un-naturally. Small rivets, bolts and washers found their way into all four corners of my boot.
I took pity on poor Tooly, and decided a makeover was in order. First job was to rivet the gaping sides together, and I put a couple on the bottom as well, because I could see that was an area of weakness and was showing signs of getting a bit tired.
I also treated it to a quick coat of paint to cover up the scratches.
Here was Tooly this morning, looking beautiful and painted.
And here he is in the boot of the Cav, holding all of the essentials.
