Cav gsi restoring help

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi all i recently bought a cav gsi which some of you may of seen it on you tube when the last guy had it the head gasket blew.At that time the cav was in excellent condition but unfortantly it fell into the wrong hands and the cav went down hill. But i,ve bought it with a view of bringing it back to its orginal state.I,ve check around the cav the chassis seems very solid from what i,ve seen so far but in the boot at either side, down where the back wings are it has gone rotten you,ll all know where they go,so i think that will need plating/welding.I cant do the jobs myself has i have no idea what i,m doing with welding or spraying etc so it will be all garage repairs i was wondering could anyone tell me the best ways to go about restoring the car obviously, it will be getting the body work solid first, and go from there i guess. If anyone could help me restore the car ie offer there services i would pay them for their work i live in featherstone west yorkshire, or if you know of anyone or a garage please get back to me thanks guys.I,ve always wanted a cav gsi back in the early 90,s when i first saw one and now i,m 30 and they are few and far between what better time to do this before its too late.

Welcome to MIG mate & good news on bringing a Cav GSi back to its glory. Damn fine cars IMO.

Are you doing it whilst the car is still roadworthy or taking her off the road & doing a full resto?
