| yeah it is, i was told its better to get the plastic one as the metal one causes probs apparantly cant remember who it was who told me but it was someone who knew a hell of a lot more than myself
yeah the saabs flow more and only need around 3.5bar to work with the evo5 chips, the standard yellows need jacking over 4 bar to flow enough, ideally cosworth greens would have been a better choice as the impediance is the same as the yellows and they flow almost perfectly at 4bar, but they cost too much!!
also pulled the bottom end apart on my XEV block and it didnt look good, the big end bearings were ****ed beyond beleif and had deformed, all that just from low pressure on start up!!
so ive junked that idea as its going to cost too much to have it measured with bearings etc, ill just have to use my C20 block instead,
more bad news, cant get hold of a bearing for my F28 so im going to use the F20 for a bit till thats sorted. |

| The water pump impellers were changed to plastic because when the pumps seized up they were damagin or snapping the timing belt leading to total engine damage.
So, they made them plastic so if they seize now lots of little bits of plastic go about your water pipes ect.

| Re: my corsas evolution from XE to LET no pics im afraid yet..
engine is pretty much done, even got as close to putting the head back on it but the ****ty ebay gasket i have decided to **** up on fitting, serves me right for saving pennies tw@ eh?
popping down the local carspares for a decent BGA item and getting a full cambelt kit for it while im there.
finally got all my intercooler pipes routed and fitted, need to get a custom high pressure PAS pipe made up and the engine is done and dusted
just got to wait a week or so then i can send this bloody turbo off for its work, been putting it off till last minute.
been sorting out rust too and as some may have spotted there was a bubble under the bootlid rubber about an inch long, after scraping it out i sanded a bit lower (would need painting anyway) and found ****ing filler covering a lovely bit of arse end action ****ing lazy bastard bodyshop bastards
so bought this, dont think that ****er will rust .
not cheap at £145 but on a full road trim car every little bit of weight saving counts |

| Re: my corsas evolution from XE to LET But surely you want to save wieght on the front?!?!? Not the back, you need to move the weight from the front to the rear.... you should buy a lead boot

| Re: my corsas evolution from XE to LET need weight over the wheels to get the power down, ive already shaved a few kilos out at the front to compensate for the extra weight of the turbo and cooler, will probably get a FG bonnet too but not just yet. |

| Re: my corsas evolution from XE to LET me neither keep losing interest, walked to the shop the other day and an astra gsi turbo launched off the lights, the sound was beutiful, my interest was instantly fully restored , was really pissed off when the gasket ripped but kindof glad it did it then rather than at full boost lol.
got my new HG today, got a proper decent BGA item, touch wood ive never ever had a single bad product from them and never had one of their gaskets let go so should hold up.
depending on weather in the morning that should be fitted with the head then all i need to do is time it up and remount the rad then i can get on with the new exhaust.
got a nice Bailey DV26 for it too dont know how quick thatll get old but i kind of like the distinct noise.
also need to get my spray gun back from my mate as i need to redo the back bumper thanks to some inconsiderate **** over christmas ploughing it and driving off also the new tailgate. |
