My Corsa XE to LET to XEV Project

Just a quick question and it may sound stupid but do u have the alternator connected up??I.E a belt running off it??

lmao yeh i do, its good too gave loads of charge when it fired up that once.

ive fitted a new freedon battery this week (ahh the pockets are getting emptier) it cranks over brilliant but the eml goes off on about the third crank, gotta be the loom, gotta get it out and have a look, i was going to do it this week but didnt cos ive been taking my son to the park and working nights, just cant be doing with the stress this thing is putting me through.

Had just as much trouble as you've had with my LET after doing the conversion as well...

theyre brand new aswell as the leads theyve also been tried on an stra gsi and are mint

had a fiddle with the circuit tester today, everything seems to be working fine, coil pulses when cranking fuel pump comes on while cranking, injectors firing, but still no brum brum.

took off the dizzy cap and its a bit shot in there so gotta locate a new one, not easy when no ****er will make them, still getting the dodgey rev counter going up and losing the EML occasionally on crank even though ive remade the earths and they go straight to the negative terminal :dunno: so now i reckon it has to be the ECU from when the wiring was a bit stodgey, since i "fixed" it then refixed it lmao

realised it hasnt run since i "fixed" the wiring which i found to be wrong then refixed it so i reckon ive blew the ECU, got another coming in the post.

just gotta source a new rotor arm and cap

ordered a new dizzy cap and arm, brand spanking also got an ecu coming, i may need to grab the dizzy off ya as just in case the one i have is different to the one im getting the cap and arm for.

something they should lis on the site really, i know you can get almost anything by ringing them but i work nights and i see my son on the days im awake so my time is pretty much sapped up.
i reckon theyd make a shedload if they listed half the stuff they stock, top lads from my experience.

Aye they would. Sadly they don't care. 90% of their business is from retailers/shops/commercial. They never push the diy mechanic side of the business; hence they have a bad customer service rep in terms of phoning people back etc

update time.

started the day by clearing my boot out,

got the carpet out and jetwashed it aswell as tidying up my "newer" tools,

then came half 12 POSTIE TIME!!! i wander what it is??

brand new genuine bosch cap and arm fitted up, seems i had a few leads on the wrong way on my olc cap too


new stock ecu, gonna need some evo 5 chips or its gonna overfuel on my saab reds, no biggy for now though

well it was getting spark and fuel, albeit sparking the wrong cylinders lmao
the ECU was switching off mid crank and it was getting live (all tested) so it was showing symptoms of being shot.

ive took out the EVO 5 chips but im wary now of fitting them to this ECU just in case they damage it.

i might just do waht simps says and get some PH2 copies
