| Re: A-2-Drizz Developments Lol thanks Grim!
Today was a little mince on the Fiesta. I firstly had to collect Claire so she could take her car home, then i tightened all the ramp bolts, proper tight now!
Then Fiesta time. Got the boot off:
Started threading the loom out:
Then started on the dash:
Then my wheels turned up all done:
And the loom all removed:
Felt good working on the old girl again!

| Re: A-2-Drizz Developments First job of the day was to lift the estate up a bit as it was too low, then i started on my headlight conversion. I wanted tinted lights with HIDs and as they dont work properly in standard lights, i sacrificed the insides of a set of calibarge lights, heres work in progress:
Need a lot of work yet. The i fixed the ramp! Yippee, sussed out our cable issue, all fits and taught now. Just a motor needed now! |

| Re: A-2-Drizz Developments Was supplied the wrong head bolts. They were too long. So although theyre torqued down theyre not holding the head. Filled the header tank with water its poured out between the head and block. Took plugs out, pistons are wet, so might have to come all apart again. And thats not even the original problem. So could do all this and start it and still be another issue. Awaiting suppliers to call back with regards to replacement parts.
Perry has said if we replace the headbolts for the correct ones and torque it down, then turn it over without plugs, water should disperse. As it hasnt actually started yet we might be ok. And with any luck most has escaped externally. Get the water displaced, then run it, drop oil and start again. |

| Re: A-2-Drizz Developments Well heres the day in pics.
Started on the boost pipes. Measured all up:
So while i was waiting for it to be made i get the rad and oil cooler on:
Then fitted the pipe:
Got all the filter side connected up and all the vacuums on:
The filled it up with oil, all good no leaks, then disaster struck. Poured the water in and out it came from between the head and block. Thats when we realised the wrong headbolts were supplied. So dropped the oil out with some water too:
Took the plugs out and dipped in a piece of paper and no dampness on the pistons so hopefully its just mixed in the oil ways.
Tomorrow then we will fit the new head bolts and torque them up, turn it over without plugs in to see if any water appears then plugs in and start and see what happens...
Big bugger to say the least. Cost me a fair bit as the suppliers wont help me out as I should have known which bolts i should have had and theyre mistake is my problem bizarrely. So with any luck, and theres not been much of that, i might run tomorrow morning. |

| Re: A-2-Drizz Developments have you turned the engine over with oil in it? if you have th head will probably need to come off as the oil between the gasket will stop it sealing, ive also had water stop the gasket sealing before to, if you can empty the fluids back out and get an e
airline in there try to get it dry as posible.
also just looking at your lifter and you said you need a new motor, whats wrong with the old motor can it be rewound? or is it a 3 phase?

| Re: A-2-Drizz Developments Its 3 phase and there is no 3 phase supply. It could be rewound for single phase but its cheaper just to buy second hand or even new
