| 1 scratch on the top of the bonnet, 1 down to metal gash on the top edge of the bonnet and a fairly deep slice into the paint on the passenger side a pillar.
Not happy! |

| Today was fun. Andys XE wouldnt start so he called me to come rescue him. Kev and I headed off in the Sri and during what seemed like a rally stage through the lanes ended up with us breaking down too. Big puddles and SRi's dont mix. So we left it for a bit, after about 15mins it ran again. Got 200yds down the road and it died. So left it for a bit and tried again, another 200yds and died. So whe walked for about a mile or so back to the unit and got the estate out. Went back, towed it home then the Estate died. Checked all my leads and plugs and they were fine so checked for fuel pressure and there was none. Ran out of fuel . Guage clearly hooky as it said half a tank. In the mean time Kevs turned out to be soggy leads, and Andy got started by the AA and it turns out his alternator isnt charging. So 3 Mk3s in an hour. Oh the joys of motoring!
So tomorrows tasks....
Kevs iE now has its new stainless system fitted, and the ignition problem sorted and a failure sheet too. Nothing serious though, just bulbs, no horn (we forgot to fit it ) and loose drivers seat subframe, so thats his day, Mine is to get the install in the estate as best i can, and Andy will be changing his dash in the turbo as well as looking at the charging problem on the non-turbo, plus fix his lawnmower!

| Well first job yesterday was to get the battery terminals sorted. Got these from a local eBayer and do the job perfectly:
Bad picture of my digital fuse holder:
Andy turns up to fix the GSi after yesterdays break down. The reason it wasnt charging was the bulb had blown in the dash.
Kevs car in the air again:
New Exhaust:
My MDF sheet ready to be marked out:
Cut the sides out and try them in place:
Kev pointed out that it was clearly meant to be as after i cut the sides out an almost perfect JL logo was left:
The 1000/1 in place:
Andy made a start on the Turbos dash swap:
Chucked the subs in for a test. Seriously need sound deadening. The roof makes a horrid rattle:
Nearly out:
And gone:
Black one in:
The 450/4 in:
All in tight, just the odds and sods to put in:
In all honesty i was disappointed with the subs. I knew they would need sound deadening but it wasnt that. Theu sounded awful TBH. So i sat down and read the manual and remembered i still had it on the 'Saloon Car' settings from the Vectra. Aha! Changed that to Hatch and the improvement was immense! Few more tweaks and it should be all good.
Thats all for today but still to do is make some spacer rings to fit my newly Aquired Focal components bought for a tenner, Bargain! Andy needs to finish his dash and Kev needs to fit the horn and sort the rear lights as theyre not working properly. |

| Re: A-2-Drizz Developments Yesterday i popped up there on my own after going to the Post Office to get the rape disc! First long week night and all that so i made a start on my new components.
Got the spare MDF out to make spacer rings as theyre 6.5in so need these to fit in the astra doors:
Then found some adaptors that i had in stock upstairs:
So got the door cards off:
Sorted the connectors out and connected up the crossovers, wrapped them in a latex glove and fixed them in the doors checking the windows worked as i went:
Got them bolted in:
And started on the other side:
Then began running the speaker wires through the car:
And how it looks at the mo. Going to be making covers for the tops of the amp racks and one for the backs of the seats to tidy the cables up and hide them away. Ill be making some copies of the amp racks so i can get them covered. Not sure what ill be doing with the boxes as yet theough...
So added my new purchase. Cut the old one off:
And got the new one on. Made a complete mess lol but ill get round to that. Also the glue had gone off so its not stuck down at the mo but ill purchase some this week.
Thats it for today! |

| Re: A-2-Drizz Developments No pics tonight as i left the cameras memory card in the PC. Doh!
Anyway just minced about really. Got the sprinter bumper off so Elmo could look at how to mount my A-bar. This will be fitted tomorrow. So after that i made a mount for my rear view camera. Not pretty, but it works and its just to test out the camera. Ill fit it better in the future. Then i moved on to the electric sunroof conversion, all done! Then pulled all the side strips off and got most of the glue off. Still a little bit to do, ill get round to that.
Then set up the sat nav. Its all in but it said i was in the field as opposed to the road so just adjusted it so i was on the tarmac with a tweak of the settings. Also fitted my N95 cable, so now music and videos can be played on the head unit. As well as text messages etc. Then took it outside and rinsed it down so all the dust and dirt from the rubbing strips came off... Then stood and chatted for blooming ages with a cuppa with a few of the other guys from up there.
Ill get pics tomorrow! |

| Re: A-2-Drizz Developments Today was A-bar day A-Team styleeeee....
Then i bought these because they were cheap:
No rub strips:
Electric sunroof:
Kevs New chair
Tufftys Mk1 LET:
Broke down tonight on its maidon voyage. Popped the drive shaft out for some reason while sitting at 80 in 5th no bumps or anything. Very strange. Popped it back in and it was fine all the way home. So ill have a look at that over the weekend! Also did a provisional deal on my alloys too so they could be off to a new home! |
