Just couldnt be arsed Grim

Well not many pics today but here goes the events of the day.
I got the bush and bolt needed for the power steering pump from Toby (cheers chap!!) and got the belt on and tightened up so now the power steering works.
The got mine out and Kevs in. He jumped straight under and drained the oil:

Then he asked me what way the calipers should be. I questioned him and took a look:

Whoops spot the mistake! No wonder he stacked it! The calipers were on upside down so who ever it was that helped him fit them before the crash go hide
So after that he swapped them all round, bled the system and we rolled it out so i could swap the rims on my mums car.
Then got his back in, adjusted the linkage, adjusted the clutch cable, reconnected the ignition switched live as it had come loose and Kev drove it for the first time. Only in the yard but its still progress! So By the end of the weekend itll be ready for its Exhaust and MOT!!!!
Got the estate back inside for some work on Sunday so ill report back then!

Right well today then...

Arrived with the weather like this:

And stripping of the Estate commenced:

It got worse:

And carried on gutting:

Andy turned up and got the bug for interior removal too:

Then the saloon turbo got attacked too:

Started wiring the estate up:

Andy getting the Champion leather in:

Got the rear carpet back in the Estate, and the leather:

The changed the handles for Chrome Vectra ones and got the cards back in:

Andy got his newly aquired leather cards on and champion rears (we really have a monopoly on Astra parts )

So as you can see, the stripped out Estate is no more. I have aquired some buckets, so the saloon will be the stripped out nutter and the estate the comfy cruiser. Youll see tomorrow the reasons when i post more pics. The Saloon wont live much longer so gonna abuse it to the end
So tomorrow Andy needs to finish getting his leather in, and i need to do the same!

Right well today then.

Got in and refitted the front sound deadening and carpets:

Then the sill trims and centre console:

Then the seats and rest of the chrome handles and cards:

Andy turned up and carried on stripping his:

And put black trims in instead of the grey:

Kev turned up and carried on with his outside, but got ll forceful with Andy (he loves it)

Before and after:

Noticed it had had a bump before:

Wiring up the reverse signal:

Andy putting his new shelf in and transfering the speakers over:

Got the boot trim off ready to have the welding done, and fitted the rear view camera:

Trimmed down the power cable, fitted an earth and connected the dividers:

Just putting the Cavaliers build in and i can now make it wider and fit both amps side by side:

Andys boot all done:

Fitted my JL bass control in the fuse cover as its changeable if i sell and also out the way. Pic makes it look worse than it is for some reason:

Why the Saloon turbo wont last much longer. Other sides worse too:

Look closely and you can see me on the screen :

Old interior light:

And new one:

Thats all for today!

Well today first thing i did was get the wipers and scuttle off:

Then made some cardboard templates for amp mounting. First was behind the seats:

Then on the side cutting round the arch:

But the amp wouldnt fit so over the arch:

Then it had to go over the road for the tailgate to get sorted:

Then the screen out of mine and Kevs for theyre replacements:

Then mine came back in for the boot trim to be refitted and the rear number plate put in the rear screen for now, and then scuttle back on as its off for MOT tomorrow!
And Kevs has finally gone!!! We towed it to the exhaust place tonight where it will be getting its sports cat fitted and catback exhaust made and a pre MOT check.
So thats all for today!
