    Re: Drizz Developments

Today then, got the chassis rotated and upside down:

Then cut the brackets off the old outriggers:

Unfortunately the new bolts and spreader plates havent come in yet so cant put them on.

Then i sat down and made some phone calls. Both John and I are having our chassis's blasted and galvanised so i needed to get us some quotes.
Blasting is about £80-100 and galving at a local place is 80p per KG which includes the acid dip first. So all in its cheaper than i thought. Im guessing my chassis is about 150kg but i need to look it up and check as i dont have a clue. 2 people can lift it though so even 150 sounds excessive, but we shall see. But im pleased! The Mrs asked if id booked it in yet lmao I think she secretly likes Land Rovers
Then as i has a tyre getting low on the Disco, and a brand new matching spare i thought id get them changed over:

I was in good company. Almost my dream garage here too!

So disco is now back on matching wheels More tomorrow!

I need to sort 2 of my wheels now, the front one went completely flat overnight.

Do you know of anyone I can get to change my tyres over onto my new rims?

Do any drilling you need to do before galvanising it. A main reason 90s rot is because they drilled the body after it had been galved.

The trouble is that all the major Tyre and Exhaust fitter wont do any work unless they provide the parts. So I cant go and get my tyres changed onto new rims as I am not buying the tyres from them. The same with the exhaust, but thats not a problem I can tackle that myself. Tyres I cant.

Really? A while ago I bought tyres online and took them down to an F1 Autocenter to get them fitted - they still get to charge you for fitting/balancing/valves/desposal so i'd be supprised if any fitter turned it down.

kwik Fit and Nationals definatly have a new rule from there relevent management that they will not do any work unless they have provided the parts.

    I dont know about A1.

I did find a local place who would change my downpipe, but want to charge about £50

I'd rather lie on my back for a couple of hours getting cold and dirty if it saves me that much.

I think I need a couple of Tubes. The off side tyres are fine, and holding pressure well.

I could do with an idea of cost to get all 4 tyres transfered to my refurbed steel rims, with a couple of new inner tubes.

    Tyre size is 7.50 x 16
