    Mercedes wheeled Astra Coupe

I thought id start a proper progress thread about my coupe. I'll just start from where i am at today, as i cant be bothered finding all the pics and write ups ive done in the past.

today i picked up my variable pcd bolts, and began to see if the wheels fit ok.

17" AMG replica wheels. 225/45 tyres, and et35

Due to still waiting on spigot rings, i just fitted the one wheel to see if clearance would be ok.

    and it is! lol

so heres a couple of pics. She will be getting lowered in the next few weeks on coilovers, and im likely to swap the tyres for 215/40s. as the wheels look abit small with a being 45s.

Bear in mind the profile height too as not shown in photoshop

Comments always welcome, but i know Merc wheels arent everyones cup of tea.

howver once lowered, i think she'll look spot on

personally like it. had porsche 911 turbo wheels on my mk4 van. looked the part etc, but be prepared for some stupid stupid questions from non-car type people. e.g. "this isnt a porsche is it ?"

well i know theyre not to everyones taste, soim not expecting everyone to love them.

reason i like them though is coz theyre so original. putting merc rims on a coupe that is lol

Didn't know what to make of them but i think they will look all right once you've got the car lowered.

bolts just sound dangerous, but those wheels will work on the car solely because of the colour.

definately willing to let myself like this car!

The bolts are NOT dangerous, PROVIDING you have the correct spigot rings.

Personally I dont think those wheels suit the car at all, but make sure that if you do keep them on there that the spigot ring adapters you use are a good snug fit.

the wheels are noce but TBH I don't think they suit the car.

Fair play for being different though.

they'd look good polished with the merc logo's removed, i quite like them. i was thinking about porsche wheels for my mk4 not so long ago but decided an exhaust manifold was better lol

Mixed opinions, but thats what i expected.

i think by lowering the car, that will make the BIG difference.

the reason that the coments are mixed is probebly due to the fack they look very similar to the early 90's cav gsi rims, and ys i know they are 5 stud and bigger! but they still look very very similar, and that style of wheel suited the older cars more, eg mk2 cav, mk2 astra, and mk1! yours is very new compared to them, and the wheels are very 90's looking! but if you like them, then i guess thats all that counts!
For me though, the only option is the gsi, or veccy gsi rim. nice and modern, but not over the top.

Nice wheels and nice car, but the two don't mix IMHO.
