Hey, cheers for checking back. The oil problem was the washers on the top bolt. Replacing them solved the problem, however it still had a blow from the manifold and an engine light, so vauxhall are looking at it tomorrow :-S

I'd just spent too much money on it and it was still having problems. It was really taking it out of me... Its so stressful when something you rely on to get you around isnt working right.

After thinking I'd sorted the smoking problem, I took it for a drive and got some more whisps of smoke from the back of the engine. Also, I suspected the coolent system was getting too pressurised again.

I guess it was pretty ambitious wanting to drive such a fast car at this age. I'll have oppertunities in the future I guess. Anyway, it got sold at auction and I picked myself up a diesel instead. At least I'll worry less about this one being parked in bristols busy streets.

Sorry to hear that dude, but we've all been there. I can appreciate where you're coming from.

There's no law that says diesel's can't be fast too.

Oh, by the way, the blow from the manifold actually just turned out to be a blow from the downpipe because I hadnt renewed the gasket.

The engine light was apparently just something I hadnt plugged in, which is strange because I was very methodical.

Cheers man. Yeah, I dont recon I'll be getting into 'all that' with this car though. Its 66k miles, 02 reg but I managed to pick it up for £2200. Reson being the body work it pretty ****. One of the doors doesnt close properly, the other ones dented, and its missing a sill! Dont think I'd want to start putting money into it.

Graaaah. Were there no Miggers nearby that could have swung round and had a look with you?

I'd of felt a bit cheeky asking mate, having been contributing much on here in recent times... Ended up posting alot on bodybuilding.com misc because it has a much faster pace.

It really isnt all that bad though, I could potentially put another 60k miles on this car and it probably does twice the mpg of the coupe. Also, poor bodywork means I'll just be less pissed when someone 'parrallel parks' down the side of my bumper lmao

Don't feel cheeky you muppet. The way I look at it, I don't mind giving anyone a hand, and then I don't feel so bad asking for them to lend me one.

Scruffy bodywork does have it's good side, I suppose.
