| porszak's c16xe, stage 0.75-176hp/187Nm. project c18xe smallblock Many times, there was some discussion about connecting c/x16xe and x18xe1/z18xe parts in one engine. So I want to show U little something.
Basic engine: c16xe with about 150 000km behind it
At first I wanted to have only fast c16xe, I disassembled engine only to check it. It was in good condition, but then came idea to do something unusual.
Many hours in the net and I started collecting parts.
That’s the result
max hp 157hp@6585 and 195Nm=144lb*ft@4790(so Torque is the same like in std c20xe)
and afr. We did 3 runs and during only one afr was too poor in about 5000rpm
What is done:
c16xe rods with z18xe crank and pistons
head work-intake and exhaust runners and valves, cr 11.4, porting
schrick 264degrees cams
Balanced crank with flywheel, pistons and rods. lightned flywheel
SuperSprint exhaust manifold without catalyzer and rest of exhaust 2.25 inch
Upper part of inlet manifold from x14xe
ECU without remap
When spring come there will be mantzel style inlet and remap
here You can find many pics from engine work, all things i could i did by myself http://www.forum.tuning.info.pl/view...er=asc&start=0 |

| interesting, any reason you didnt want to use the whole 1800 engine? as the head esign is way better than the c16

| becauce i had whole engine c16xe, and like i wrote, at first i wanted only fast c16xe.
oil and water gallerys are different in c16 and z18. i think c16 head is way better than z18. if i remember well dia of valves is the same in both,or only not much biger in z18 |

| seriously, the 1800 head is just awesome, casting abilty has clearly moved on alot since they cast the 1600,5mm valve stems too it has a differerent inlet manifold setup though that may be a bit tricky to fit a mantzel type box too, interesting project anyway |

| So is it a 1800cc engine then? Sounds like a good hp/torque output considering its on standard management and inlet etc. |

| if he has used the 1800 crank and pistons then it will be 1760cc, smaller combustion chamber on the 1600 head so a bit more compression too, also beacuse of the increase in cylinder size |

| with a Mantzel Powerbox, enlarged trottle boy, and remapped you can be close to 180 bhp with a lot less weight then a C20XE
Very interesting result indeed |

| Re: porszak's c16xe, stage 0.5-157hp/195Nm. project c18xe smallblock ok, so i'm back with again not quite finished project but with bigger power.
this is result with std c16xe injectors+mantzel look power box, and std ecu with rev limit set at 7000rpm. afr 12.5-13 |

Do you know how many cc's the C1.6XE or X1.8XE1 injectors are?
Kind Regards,

| Re: porszak's c16xe, stage 0.5-157hp/195Nm. project c18xe smallblock c16xe rods look like stronger, and i think they realy are.
now engine is running with std c16xe injectors, and mantzle power box with 176bhp@7000rpm, but as U can see rev limit is still to low Quote:

| Re: porszak's c16xe, stage 0.5-157hp/195Nm. project c18xe smallblock Hi Porzak,
I have also a 1.8 since few days, i drives prerfect! Yesterday a found some info about the X1.6XE injectors, the flowrate is 165cc at 3 bar. And the X1.8XE1 injectors are 175CC at 3 bar!
Did you use a power boost valve (FSE), because your engine runs poor after the 5000rpm?
Kind Regards,
Axel |

| Re: porszak's c16xe, stage 0.5-157hp/195Nm. project c18xe smallblock @ TigraTurbo, yes that's the plan. but now corsa is still dailyuse car. have to buy another
@Axel c16xe injectors are bigger than x16xe. x16xe's are good till about 150bhp, that's what i konw. i didn't find efficiency of c16xe injectors
if FSE is fuel pressure regulator, i don't have one. afr is ok, isn't perfect all the time, but still between 12.5-13. |
