my mk4 astra sri turbo

hi, ive recently bought an '02 mk4 astra sri turbo ( ) and thought it would be good to put the car in this section to show my progress. i dont plan to do anything silly to the outside of the car, just lower it on the standard wheels for now. then hopefully after a dump valve i can concentrate on performance! exhaust, intercooler, chip etc. this is the newest car ive owned so its all about learning as i go along really, its a bit more complicated than my old nova merits! the only modification to the car is that the wheels have been sprayed black, i asked the bloke i bought it off why, and he said that they had most likely been refurbed at some point and thought theyd look better. the 2 pics ive put up dont really do the car justice, as its a lot nicer in the flesh! the cars covered 42,000 miles and has full vauxhall service history. and 12 months mot so no worrying for a whole year!!! ive attempted to put these pics up on photobucket, not sure if they'll work as im useless on a pc, so if they don't and someone can point out where i went wrong id appreciate it. thanks a lot

p.s. more pics to follow if these work!!! p.s quality of pics is very poor as they are off trader website so were very small!

managed to relocate the head unit in my car today, not a massive job but one of them that you normally keep putting off all the time. the interior has something against me i think, my hands are in bits! so heres how it started, stereo up top and cd thing at bottom.

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/f...age006daj1.jpg

got a decent guide off the astra owners club for removing the centre console (can i say that?), and managed to slide it out enough to get my hand behind it without having to disconnect the heaters etc. so the head unit came out along with cd thing

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/f.../Image0021.jpg

finally, it was time to get the wiring block for the stereo down to its new home - how easy was that? you get more loom down in this position than its original home! tidy, put the cage in the lower slot along with the head unit and slid the cd thing into the top hole. job done!

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/f...Image005a1.jpg

the cd thing is staying there for now, but only until i get a boost gauge and oil pressure gauge which i've seen in a few other astras. you make a custom 'pod' the same shape as the cd thing and mount your gauges into it.

is there any way i can just put the pics up inbetween all the text without having to open all these photobucket things???

thanks

all you have to do is put the image hyperlink in instead of the url link, it does say not post attachments but not post images, you can stick images in wherever you wish, but if you tried to attach the images in a seperate file it wouldnt allow you.

(if you are using photobucket just copy the bottom line under the image and paste into the message box in the appropriate position)

Angry

a quick update seems as though i havent done one for a while. after spending 2-3 weeks looking for 60mm springs for my astra, i finally came to the conclusion that without going down the coilover route i wasn't gunna find any. (well not a set of branded ones anyway). so settled for some spax 60/40s. with adjustable dampers . ordered and paid for on monday last week, with next day delivery a little extra but what the hell its christmas!
so tuesday came, it felt like christmas morning to me - the ONLY present that i am looking forward to was arriving today so took up a prime position in my lounge to wait for the courier (DHL). and waited some more...............

half 4 and i ring the company (POTN) to check they were on their way. "UNFORTUNATELY THEY HAVE NOT BEEN DISPATCHED YET". had a bit of a moan but gave them the benefit of the doubt. so because it was quite late tuesday he said they were unable to get them to me on the wednesday (so whats this next day delivery b******s all about then) but definitely thursday. so tried every trick in the book to forget about them on the wednesday and washed the car in anticipation for the lowering the next day

so thursday came, bitterly cold but that didnt bother me. my car was going to be lowered today! or was it................... half 4 arrived (im beginning to see a pattern here) and the phone call was made. i'd missed the office opening hours, doh! still there was hope as a while back i ordered coilovers for my corsa which arrived at 8.40pm. so i made a point of staying home so i didn't miss the courier. he never came.......................

friday, 9.01 am and im violently hitting the buttons on my phone. 0 8 4 5 . . . . .
the hold music is on in full swing, and a voice telling me that my call will be answered within 4 minutes.. 1min 2min 3min 4min 5min 6min...... erm, hello???

finally an answer, and the rant began. "I'LL CHASE THIS UP RIGHT AWAY AND CALL YOU BACK AS IM THE ONLY PERSON IN THE OFFICE TODAY" was the explanation i got.2 hours later and the phone aint ringin so i rang back ...
1MIN 2MIN 3MIN HELLO (getting faster).

me: hi its about the astra suspension
them: sorry, what?
me: i rang 2 hours ago about the suspension that never arrived
them: oh yes sorry theres nothing we can do until the 28th
me: what?
them: spax have shut for christmas and re-open on the 28th
me: well have u chased up the courier that they use about the item in case its been sent? maybe get a tracking number?
them: we cant because spax are shut
me: is this a joke?
them: no
me: well surely if youre representing a company you have some sort of contact?
them: we rarely have to get in touch because we trust spax to get the suspension on its way once we've received your payment.
me: oh yes thats another thing, u didnt waste no time taking my money off me
them: (silence)
me: well i'll be ringing on the 28th and will be requesting for a member of the management. if i wanted the suspension after christmas i would have paid after christmas

christ, im boiling over now. the initial call was made on the 17th of december. and now im looking at receiving them on the 28th (but not holding my breath). the joys of modifying hey!
sorry for the moan but i think i deserved one!

well i'm demanding that next day delivery money back on the 28th. can't believe the situation. what i want to know is why do spax use this company in the first place? the only thing i can think is that spax cant be bothered with all the phone calls, so they get someone else to do the donkey work? if anyone can shed any light on the subject then itd be appreciated
