LOL believe it or not I was struggling with too little grip at the back all day. To start with it was my fault as my brain defaulted into 2.0 carlton dry weather mode and I put 55psi in the rears Silly sausage.
Yeah Grim make yourself known matey, Ill be arriving with the pod convoy saturday night.

| Re: Senator 24v manual ex-police, track / drift car Oooooooooooooooh poop. this car has a habit of breaking itself the day after stuff, so now I have a suspected weeping water pump and a hairline crack in the rad. The valvetrain don't sound particularly pretty either Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Dont think its worth hitting the pod now really, as they dont let you on if you're dripping fluids (dont know how badly it drips yet will have to take it out and warm it up) so I may just head straight to Retro Rides |

| Re: Senator 24v manual ex-police, track / drift car Hey dude,
That looks like great fun! Wish the Manta was ready as I'd get a crap set of rims and come and join you! The cartlon's paint job is just genius, the photos look great and it's good to see a big grin on your face while going sideways!
This was in 2003; FAR too long ago! Also, notice I'm not smiling - I nearly lost it! lol
I just can't wait to get my Manta on the road! Been looking at the SRE V6 price list, complete engine - £19000 + ECU lol. Still, 400bhp and 3.4ltr. Let me know if you want me to scan their brochure in as Animal finally dug it out for me.

| Re: Senator 24v manual ex-police, track / drift car 2003..... thats FIVE years man!
But yeah, get some pikey spec rims and sort the manta STAT
Drift days are great fun, and useful for polishing up car control skills I reckon.
Cheers for the comments on the Senator, to be fair Ive yet to find someone who doesnt like her!
£19k oooooooooooooouch. Hope thats a turnkey price! heh Id love to see the price list for the V6, even though Im V6less at the moment due to the engine and donor car being hiab'd!
Little update on this............
Valvetrain is ok now I think, had a case of the noise paranoia "It never used to sound like THAT did it?" indeed it did, Im a muppet
Still got its water leaks but they shouldnt be tooo bad a fix, already been offered 2 radiators!
Went to the retro-rides show at Gaydon over the weekend. Absolutely fantastic show and I had a great time despite not really knowing anyone there, they were all very friendly
Lots of pics in this thread here...... http://retrorides.proboards86.com/in...y&thread=45165 the pics keep coming all the way through the pages
Work permitting Im booked into a higher speed drift day at the pod on the 27th and another normal day on sept 10th. So some work to do to make the car more hardy! |

| Re: Senator 24v manual ex-police, track / drift car Yeah, five long bloody years! lol Still, done a good few track days since then - but not in my Manta!
lol, thought is was a Carlton! Glad the valve train is alright in the Senator! The Manta is coming along, so don't worry I'll get there sometime soon.
I'll scan the catalogue in then, it's worth a quick gander to see what they can do, and have done for years! |

| Re: Senator 24v manual ex-police, track / drift car New rims
I'm so stupidly happy now I have dish! I don't need drugs, just wide wheels
Just gotta fold the lips on the rear arches and shes a peach to go, as its currently rubbing the arch on the RIM, not the tyre! DOH!
Fronts too high now though, but I cant drop it anymore until Ive
a) done the downpipe properly (grounding out atm)
b) worked out how too, as its already on lowering springs chopped to the point of dislocation and I have very little travel left in the damper! |
