Mk3 Astra 5Dr C20let project

Hello all. I have recently become a member of the site and am struggling with a few things.
I have just started of my 1st major project about two month ago when i took my Astra 2.016v sport 5dr off the road for much needed restoration.
The front wings were in a bad way due to rot and the vauxhall red paint had turned a nice shade of faded pink. Aftre many times of polishing the car i have giving in and decided to get the car fully resprayed in pearl blue green, well thats the plan anyway so i have now started what i have been planning for so long.
I started by beginning to rip off the old wings and replacing them with new ones and then i began ripping the interior out the plan is to go back to the bare shell. I have plans for the engine coming out and been replaced with the C20let also but i have bought a little run around so am not going to rush the project.
I am struggling to figure out how to get pictures of the car into the thread any advise or help is appreciated, also i was working on the car this morning for a few hours and can not figure out how the back door drop glass comes out, Do i have to remove the glass with the regulators or does it detatch in someway.

All advise greatly appreciated.
Chris

Yeah i will keep it updated as i go along its finding the time at the minute and not the best time to start a project. Hoping to get the rest of the interior stripped out this weekend and i will post some more pics on sunday. Got some pics of the car when i had it on the road with a yellow front Gsi bumper got some funny looks driving it then.

Astra mk3 project front bumper

Hello all just wondering if anyone could tell me if this bumper is looking correct so far. I have started to covert it to the bigmouth bumper but am unsure as to what to do next. Do i remove the re-inforcing plastic behind the bumper because if i do i will have no where to put the strenghting metal mounting bar. I know i gotta cut the same section out of the mounting bar but unsure on the plastic section. Also do i just finish it off with fibre glasss/bodge.? Any help greatly appreciated.

Thats as much as i have managed to get done this weekend due to excessive drinking and suffering all day today. I just put the front seat back in place but all interior out apart from dash, head lining and electric sunroof which i fitted last about 5 month ago. Hoping to have a more productive time next weekend.

Sorry for the long absence. My computer decided to pack up (my fault like) and i just managed to get the time to get it looked at and fixed. That will teach me to go deleting programs thinking i know what i am doing.
Being stowed off so aint getting much done with the car.
It seems everybody wants there cars fixing all at the same time but cant refuse the extra cash at the min plus me worse half seems to keep starting DIY in the house then loosing interest leaving me to fix what she starts.
I aint taking any jobs on this weekend though so i can get some work done on the Astra.

Alright i have a little bit of a problem, i have started to have doubts about fitting the turbo engine to the Astra and have been thinking about going for throttle bodies instead. I know the turbo engine would be quicker but am thinking i just want to do something a little bit different.
I have also decided to keep the car red instead of going for the pearl blue/green. I struggling to find someone to paint it at the minute so if anybody knows of anybody or any bodyshops in the northeast that are cheap but good for cash.?

Paint jobs are always worth spending the money on, it's the sort of thing you only want to do once - so do it right the first time.

Just a quick update the car is ready to go to the bodyshop, just my wallet isnt ready to take it yet. Xmas managed to squeeze more out of me than i wanted to spend so cash for the car has been taking a hit. Its not looking like the car will be sprayed untill the summer at least. Gotta stag doo to go on in march in Magaluf so needindg cash for that as well. Once that is out the way i am hoping to get back on track.

I have finally getting the car away this week to the bodyshop. I will try get some pics of the car on to show the progress. Cant wait to get it back so i can start putting it back together and back on the road. Saying that prob not be able to afford to run it if the goverment keep pricing cars of the road.
