| how you going to set up the fuelling?? standalone management or what?
id get one of those x/c16xe exhaust manifold flanges, and have a manifold made to suit what ever turbo your going to use?!?!?!
depending on boost also, you could have a spacer plate and/or skim the pistons. go on theory of high CR low boost, low CR high boost!!
could really do with more info really, if your after help/advice or whichever |

| Spacer plate is a bit "bodgy"
New pistons are a much better idea.
Think mvaux may have shut down, there sites been dead for days. |

| as this is my first time doing an engine conversion i didnt want to be messing about changing all the wiring loom and welding on new engine brackets. So as it came with a 1.4 ecotec, i have just uprated it to a 1.6.
My plans for engine are as follows:-
Forged pistons and rods
Turbo
Ally Fly wheel
Uprated cltuch
it has already come with some kent cams
Den all da whsitles and bells to make it look shiny lol

| tbh, as long as you take your time, and know people who can weld, and do wiring, its not too bad.
the mvaux manifolds tend to crack, or so ive read, if you could get a manifold made for exhaust/turbo, then an aftermarket inlet like a mantzel or even a copy, get some boost pipes made, and lower theCR your almost there, only part for you is deciding on how to do the fuelling |

| mvaux???? you tell me mate, i was going to buy a turbo from them, but they have dissaperered, they must have shut down or something, hopefully i have someone in brazil that can sort me out with a turbo kit anyway.
The Dash was took out because i am going to fiberglass it, so i can out screens in etc and then re trim it all in suade, my origiainal idea was to move the headunit up into the roof (where the interior light is) but i think it wil be really hard to mount up there. |

| Looks like a lot of work going in in there...
fibreglass dash & screens???? Kinda goes against the grain of making the 1.6 quick & then putting in lots of weight....?

| not wanting it to be fast, it is a show car through and through, if i wanted performance it would be getting stripped with a red top. Just thought it would be something a bit different a 1.6 turbo rather than the usual 2.0l turbos u generally see about |

| If its a show car why are you going to the extent of making a 1.6 turbo with new pistons etc... I know its different but a total waste of money in my mind. If its just for the look of it might aswell have just doubled the headgaskets and saved yourself a few pennies.

i agree!!! no point in having a puker engine if your always going slow because your scared of ripping the front bumper off on the road or track.
thats why i said might aswell save afew pennies with a double headgasket because its not getting used for track use anyways. |

And as for doing a 1.6 turbo i wnt it unique, not many people do it. This isn't a car i use every day it is only going to be for sunny days, so i jst want it too have a nice bit of power, but not too much. There will be a whole load of projects coming after this in the next cumin years so dnt worry. First time for everything |
