But this is truly epic. Welding racking over the arches... it's pikey motoring at it's best, and I think it's something we can all relate to. I quite fancy a van, now.

This is going to sound very strange, but how long are they? Can you lie down comfortably in the back? Might be cheaper than getting a tent for Billing. lmao
I slept in my Estate LET a couple of years ago if thats any help

Excellent. I've slept in an Escort van and they must be a similar size.
Teeth? LUXURY! When I was a child we ate by putting rocks in our mouth and jumping up and down.

cheers boys, yea really glad how good its come out, was only plannin to give it a quick blow over and stick the alloys on it, never ment for this to happen, got a bit carried away, as usual lmao like i was 'just' gonna change the head gasket in the gsi, and look wat happened to that lmao
but glad i did work that bit extra, certainly got alot of looks in it the last couple of days

yea can easily sleep two in a astra van, is a bit longer than an escort! measuring up a double mattress for p.v now lmao

    No contest I think!

I was browsing an un-named social networking site last night and one of the Neds from my home town had a pic of your GSiT as his profile pic! I left him a comment saying that Ronnie was going to come and claim royalties from his blatant flouting of MIG copyright law lmao

lol i often get that, finding my car as other peoples 'own cars' on their pages! one guy from scotland had a pic of his 1.4 merit red astra then the next few pics of it finished were of MY car in MY driveway lol my mate emiled him a couple of times asking how hard it was to get 18s on an astra and stuff lol

Must be a bit of a confidence boost though.

forgot to update and say i changed the exhaust over from the other van last week too, two reasons, 1, to ditch the cat, and 2, it didnt have a back box when i got it, it had rusted all the way though at the rear beam and fell off compleatly lol

this is all that was left of the syatem on the TD

so stuch the compleate system off the other van on there, cut and joined it at the front flexy!

and just to be a bit flash i had a tail pipe laying around so i thought i'd weld that on too!

bit dirty at the mo, i live in the countryside lol

decided to try and add up how much the cool van had cost me!

start from the point the cambelt snapped in my pug!

    weighed in pug for 60quid
weighed in the 17s for 30 quid

    balance 90quid

    brought van for 40
    for mot
had to get a rear shock, 8quid
    sill pannel 7 quid
    exaust front section 20quid
    -75quid

    balance 15quid up!

    mot 45quid

    balance -30quid

so to get the van on the road cost me 30quid

then got the other van 60 quid
cost of paint for respray 30quid
had to give my boss for materals and oven 30quid
alloys - free, came off the nova,
wheel bearings and bottom ball joints 50quid

    balence -170quid

    weighed in old van 70quid
    weighed in cat 30quid

    balence 70 quid!

so the van as you se it now, owes me about 70 pounds
