Be careful man, you're going to lose the comedy of having Mig's lamest van.

got all the eleccy windows in today, why do vauxhall have to make it such a mission in the astra, when i put gsi eleccy windows in my nova sr there was a positive and negative to the switches, then two wires in each door tot eh motors, not in the astra, 5 wires into each door, 4 wires to each motor, 8 wires to each switch, to save a load of wires everywhere i used a old trailer bord wiring i had and ran that door to door, 6 wires all in one flexy lol

I'm loving the upgrade on a budget mentality of this van, it's got character already!

All you need now is a massive MIG Performance Vauxhalls stenciled down the sides in black...

    Springs

Looks good. ive got a mk3 estate and im also sortin it out a bit, my springs came of a CAV, ive got 60 m drop cav fronts and 30 mil drop cav rear (but with the weight of the estate on hatch springs you get Way more than that), youve got to modify the springs because the pigtails are a different size at the ends. the van springs are bigger, but if you heat the spring with oxy cetaline(i know i know) but just say an inch from the end you can bend it with mole grips just enough to make it fit. , my estate is Really low... i dont think it possible to go any lower... rides a bit hard.. but it handles a lot better

had to spend some money on the van today the wheel bearing was an adviosery on the mot, and has been getting worse and worse, past the humming stage, to the fierce grinding stage, and now the the about the collaps stage! wheel moved like the wheel bolts arent done up

and through my work a genuine one wasa the same proce thru my work as a pattern one, so gave the van a special treat

most possibly gonna be a bit of progress on the van soon, as i might be getting a donor vehicle this week!

right, bit of a big pic post! taken ages to upload!

this was my weekend! plan was to do the wheel bearings and give it a splash over respray to brighten it up! as i wasnt going to be working on the gsi, as it was pissing it down all weekend lol!

so sat morning i started stripping mine out

one of my mates decided that it was time to get a new van, his needed discs pads and front shocks, so he went out and got a new shape vaux combi van, and said i could have his old one as he new i was on the look out for a turbo diesel engine for mine, plan was to swap engines and then go and scrap his!

he turned up with his, gave it clean off

its not the izuzu lump which everyone rants on bout being amazing, but not tuning it, just want more umph than the normally asperated 1.7d thats in it now lol

with its MASSIVE turbo ha ha

but looking round it it was pretty dam straight! had rusty arches, but underneith was solid, and all the panels were straight! so decided to re shell mine into that one, and do an engine conversion!

found a bit of racking laying about which looked perfect for replaceing the rottern arch lol

    started swapping bits over

    only damage on the car

had gash grey interior though! looks like a nissan micra lol

but has got fold down rear seats! in a van! how cool is that

    starting prepping it up!

put my old nova 17s on, standard ride height! mmmmm :P

    and lowered ..... ALOT!

    that was saturdays!

    then came in sunday

gave the whells a wash (been sitting in my carden for about a year lol)

remembered i'd had a astra or veccy rear dooe handle sitting in my tool box for years, knew it woruld come in handy one day lol delocked passsender door

got the van in the oven all papered up

and the bits in the other oven

last minute decided to ditch the V-grille

and smoved all the slat recesses

then my mate from work came in and brushed his experteese on the van......

and all painted! vauxhall casablanca white

then started the putting back together process! never as easy as taking it apart lol

colour coded the roof trims, and painted the rails black

colour coded all the washer jets

the inside is all ply lined

and behind that is all insulated! plesant suprise! nice and toasty

    and ALL BACK TOGETHER

    pretty low lol

    bit of an comparresen

    all done ready to roll

so a very busy weekend! came out really well concidering i didnt prime it, just wet-on-wetted the whole car!

    happy
