we converted a corsa combo about 6 months ago now
lol corsa 1.5 td can do 150 bhp , my isuzu is doin about 110 without spending anythin on it just tuning, and i still get nearly 50mpg on the motorway , love the diesel roar and the tourque makes petrols sound weak
Ron try and get that vaccy pump off and stick a 15mm spanner sideways in the end of the cam. That will do for the timing.
i think last time i did one of these i remember some marks on the back of the flywheel , maybe two lines that sit horizontal with the block , one each side of the flywheel to get perfect tdc
then when you do that i think you notice that that mark on the bottom pully is wrong
well had some stuff on and couldnt update over the weekend, so heres how it went
towed the van down to the g-unit, wasnt gonna do it on the driveway when i had somewhere dry and light, looks pretty dam cool on the F1'sdont think they'd go on the back though lol
in the warm
head off, its almost quick release now lol
and found a mate with this special amazing stupid ****ing tool!
head on with a fell set of rockers, again lol

went to put the flywheel alignment tool on, and it only didnt ****ing fittheres two types, early and late foir the flywheel, the late has a hole in the bell housing which a pin goes in, which mine isnt, and the early which bolts a pointer to the flywheel cover mounting bolts and points to an arrow, but the pointer didnt fit my gearbox
what a ****! and i wasnt in a position to start guessing which one of the holes was the true datum, **** knows why the pointer didnt fit! wrong gearbox been put on or something???
so had to do it the long way round, put it at about tdc, made the cam fully floating, and rotated it clockwise untill the valve touched the piston, and took a dti off the cam lobe, backed the cam off, moved the brank slightly, took another dti, see if the valve was going down more or less, 3 ****ING HOURS later i'd finally found the true TDC, spot on, then i could time it up properly, zereo'd the cam and at tdc it had to be 55.... spot on
started it up and it works woooo! no problems so far![]()
