Re: Ronnie's new runaround - Project VAN!

well not updated for a while as havnt done much, just been using it as a work horse, but last night it gave up had been startin to run hot for the last couple of weeks, but yesterday it started missing, then getting smokey, opened the bonnet and it had a jacuzi going on in the header tank!

    headgasket

so got the astra out of the carport finally, so my mum and dad were happy of a clear driveway, well for one day, the vans in there now lol

    started stripping it down

    head ready to come off

    and off

    stripped the head down

its a wierd configureation compared to normal, and the water system is wierd!! and a twat to get off, all external!

and it had a high performance triple layer metal head gasket lol

gonna get it pressure tested tomorrow jus to make sure it is the head gasket and not a cracked head!

need to know the head bolt torque settings and cambelt locking proceidure if anyone has them to hand, my haynes manuals only for petrols!
