Astra 1.4 Maroon wonder

Right

My sister has a 1.4 (spi) 5 door maroon astra witch needs a tidy and she has already been bitten by the modifying bug......

so thought I would get a thread up and atleast start out with idea's and options....digicam on it's way so soon I can update all my threads with photos lol.......

anywho......for now the car needs to stay 1.4........but we have been thinking about getting rid of that SPI thing as it's playing up now and is just plain awefull what about putting in a 16v perhaps out a corsa or simialr??? anyone got any susgestions on engines and boxes.....

but so far on the modding list we have

1) remove bump-strips
2) GSI front and rear bumpers and rear spoiler... and some 200TS or simalar skirts and grills when I eventually go back to SA and bring stuff back for migweb opel owners club ....
3)288's up front with some veccy V6 stuff on the rear and some cally turbo rims (yes i know it has small block shafts so I will be using some vectra 1.6 16v cv's)
4) all four electric windows....
5) replace grey inside with black one....dash and all....
6) get some ok ice in there...

plus any other mods people can can up with.......

will so minor work this week and get before and after shoots up

so looking around seems like x14xe is really the only engine to consider if it needs to stay 1.4.........

so anyone know what will be needed to fit such a thing?? if i got an engine i presume i could keep the the spi box and just take the x14xe engine loom ecu and I presume a MPI pump out of something.......other than that should the mounts be the same and such if it comes out a corsa or anything?

Is it a phase one or two astra?

I put a phase 2 interior into a phase one, was a cdx interior, and had rear headrests, was a nice black with some odd spots on it, looked nice, very comfy.

Only cost £40 from the scrappies complete with all plastic (black)
