| don't think there's a better quality manifold other than peter g's and unfortunally chip's got the last ones of them. I've got a figure in my head but my minimum is 400-420 which is realistic i think. |

| Looks like an interesting project, could I suggest another way of doing your engine mounts?
Will scan some photos of some I made years ago, might be useful to you |

as promised, the rubber mount was sourced from Rally and Competition Equipment in Stoke, the block mounting plate is 5mm thick and the tube is 3mm wall thickness.
The metal shroud for the rubber mount was sourced from a steel stockholder, sorry, can't remember the dimensions.
Hope this helps |

| Thanks thats much appriciated. Thats given me another way to think about which i prefer to my method tbh. I've just had a thought where maybe i could mix the 2 together. backing plate with the tube then another plate at the end of the tube and use the rubber mount in my pic to mount to the subframe. i'll make some dummies tomorrow and take aload of measurement's again
thanks |

| Got the steering sitting in place now. Need to get brackets welded up to the subframe and will have steering. Probably won't do nothing else to it until after christmas now. Going to start on the welding now and get the tunnel and bulkhead done
Once dry sumped and engine up another 1/4 inch it'll all be fine or mod a manta sump
View from the inside
Just cleared using the 1.8 sevo |

| What is the final position of the engine? In some of those pics, you're never going to be able to get the last spark plug out...

The vectra has a plastic panel that sit's along the top. Where the i'd need to access the last spark plug is where the pollen filter would sit and there's a panel that lifts up to access it. how the engine is sat now i could access eveything. the rocker cover can lift up and slide out also. my only concern is the external wastegate but i'll be picking that up soon so will sort that out then. |

| How come the engines so far back?
Surely if it was father forward you have more clearance on the sump and things... |

| Having the engine further back will help with balancing the car up. I don't want the engine in front of the front wheels making it nose heavy and want to understeer all the time. Where ever the engine is i'll have clearance issues. In fact if i had it forward i'd have alot more problems mounting the steering. It looks further back than it is as the bulkhead doesn't start where the panel goes over the top it's further back than that. |
