Everything, the entire setup.

I can't picture in my mind how your setup works. Just some general overview shots would be awesome.

I'll try my best. Haven't seen the car since last Monday so it might not even be where I left it now Here's hoping

Re: Vauxhall Corsa 2.0 XE Club

Here are a couple of pictures of the rear spring setup when the car is sat as normal. No coilbound in sight

A few random pictures of the car:

Ghetto Security

Now, before the car went off for corner-weighting I needed to know why it felt arse-end happy under braking. I've found the problem- the rear wheels are locking up as can be seen in this picture. So that's something that needs looking at

..and just for fun

Just standard rear drums; assume it's cos the back of the car is empty tbh. It will be rectified

I've got the poxy standard 1.2 drums on the back of mine. I was toying with the idea of using larger Cav drums but it doesn't look like I'll need to!

Mental !! Loving the animated gif .. Jack - many peeps fit discs to the back of their novas/corsas then spend ages and lots of money on bias set-ups to get them not to lock up same with well looked after drums ! A bit silly really . The hardcore-ness of this car is awesome love it!

Re: Vauxhall Corsa 2.0 XE Club

Glad the springs aren't coil bound when the car is on the ground! That was never the issue in question though! The issue was when the vehicle is under load in a corner or what not! TBH I don't really give a poo what you do to your car, it's up to you. I brought this to your attention simply for you to keep an eye on it (I did the same to Olly, and he thanked me and is keeping an eye on it). In future I won't bother you with my unrequired advice, I will wait for you to contact me again to ask a question!

Re: Vauxhall Corsa 2.0 XE Club

Fitted my shift lights tonight. The drill slipped when doing one of them so it's not inline with the others but hey ho. I'm not going to get hung up over that. They're so fkin bright

LEDs and resistors twisted together to check

All soldered and heat-shrunk

Fitted

On Friday night I managed to damage something while showing off at some traffic lights to a scooby owner After said incident I was only able to get 3rd 4th and 5th gear I re-alligned the linkage and it was the same; infact I had to put the gearstick in the reverse position to get 1st
So off with the linkage to find some damaged and snapped bushes. That'll be the problem then I'll get some replacements tomorrow

Seeing as I couldn't actually drive the car tonight, I decided to get the grinder out I fixed the mess I made of the front bumper and it looks loads better IMO

Decided to make the air holes in my window actually DO something and let some cool air in.
Before:

After:

As you'd expect, I carefully covered up the car to stop it getting dirty before cutting

Quite a productive evening for me

Re: Vauxhall Corsa 2.0 XE Club

if you fit the auto adjuster in the drums to the wrong way round ( so the fork with the step is at the rear of the shoe) then you can set the pressure of the rear brakes without the auto adjuster tightening it back up again.

bit pikie though

Interesting that when Chip dived on Lees custom tie-bar setup you all defended him as it being R&D etc yet when somebody else tries something you immediately shoot them down. Pot...kettle

Re: Vauxhall Corsa 2.0 XE Club

good progress there chap loving the leds

i see you've lifted the bonnet at the back - i reckon you should cut the lip that folds underneath the back of the bonnet(difficult to explain), this means you'll get more of a low pressure pull and you could lower it a bit if you fancy

Re: Vauxhall Corsa 2.0 XE Club

Not a bad idea that, only problem is the bonnet flaps about abit at speed anyway, and I think if I chopped that anymore it'll be quite flexible lol

Re: Vauxhall Corsa 2.0 XE Club

lol aah yeah, it is a major structural part thats for sure! You can always bond some solid fibreglass rods in it's place with resin, as with the lip being so obtrusive i doubt it's pulling as much air out of the bay as it could

The thing is there was nothing wrong with my TIE BAR setup! It was my crossmember that was at fault. However I did look at the car, hence it was fixed. I'm not shooting you down at all, I'm just giving you something to look at. I've not said anything will definetly happen!
