Re: Vauxhall Corsa 2.0 XE Club

with those holes in the bonnet, you need a reverse swindon head and stick the trumpets up and out through the bonnet!

Re: Vauxhall Corsa 2.0 XE Club

Well I started my strip-down last night (poor pictures as they were from my phone)

Dash out:

Then started to cut away the un-needed metal from around the gearstick:

Thursday night will see me finish cutting the metal away, and then start to trim down my loom

Re: Vauxhall Corsa 2.0 XE Club

It's quite er, a serious bit of kit. I now have 4 or 5 airholes in the drivers side exhaust tunnel where I got abit carried away with it

Re: Vauxhall Corsa 2.0 XE Club

easily done tho!

did you put a screw driver/chisel under the metal to apply pressure the weld? You should have that as you started drilling it would just pop.

Re: Vauxhall Corsa 2.0 XE Club

hmm, no LOL I'll make a concerted effort on the passenger side to be more careful - at the end of the day, extra holes are all weight saving

Re: Vauxhall Corsa 2.0 XE Club

Coming along nicely matey. Out of interest, where you from bud?

I had the same debate about dash in or dash out... I could take my dash out and make it lighter, but will need to buy a heated front screen (Ј250..!!). Then i thought, with all the gravel on the stages, it's quite likely that the heated screen may get damaged and can i afford ro replace it all the time...??

I decided to keep dash

Re: Vauxhall Corsa 2.0 XE Club

Didn't go to Billing as I'm not one for static shows really

So spent Saturday putting my car back together

Pile of stuff that I removed (Weighed 2.2kg)

Dash half fitted

Complete:

Decided to fit the 'full' dash as I've still got too many wires (alarm etc) behind to make it look neat, plus I don't want to loose the heaters. Still chuffed with how it looks though, and I've saved a fair bit of weight with the metal supports being removed from the dash, the metal from around the gearstick and all the wires

List of things to do:

Fit Square Front numberplate to give air holes a chance
Fit Nylon Gearbushes that have just arrived from LMF
Get airbox for TBs finished (for track use)
Book in at Noble for Final Mapping
More holes in bodywork
.....LSD
