Have wanted to get one fitted now for a while, After trying to use the astra/cav surround which i found didnt fit quite right, So offering up the Omega surround that fitted much better.
Here a small guide to fitting it, Yes i have no headlining in at the start so its easier to see whats going on, Some of the pics are from the trial fitting of the cav surround.
Unscrew the standard winder, You'll be left with this,
Un bolt this, As the holes are used to hold the motor in place,
Pick the foam back and there are two screw holes, These hold the front of the motor up,
they are an odd size at m5.
The holes from the bracket can be used for the ground from the motor,
You'll be left with this, Motor all bolted in place,
Or here if using the Omega motor,
Depending on what surround is where the wiring looks a little bit different,
but both only really use the power from the standard nova light,
Astra/Cav surround
Now the motor should work, Which will open the sunroof,
On to the surround, This basicly works on both,
You'll need to cut the hanger type cage that the light gos in to,
Refit the rooflining, Trim out the center so it can fit behind the motor.
As the cage holds the surround too far away from the roof skin,
Then using the vectra type light, which is a 2part case, you can drill thru the outer part and use the screw hole from the standard nova rear view mirror mount, like so,
This holds the front of the surround up, The rear is held up by the sunroof plastic surround.
then the front of the light can be pushed in place,
Ive used the Omega surround as it fits nicer to the nova headlinning,
Depending on what light you wanna use gos from here, As of yet i havent fitted one as i want the twin eye ball light, Which is a little bit too deep, The merit style light will fit in ok i beleve as its thinner.
Make sure all the runners in the sunroof are well greased as they can stick, and the motor will jam and have a strop,
I hope this helps everyone who wants to fit an electric sunroof. It's not perfect but it does work. So it will be amended where needed.
