| Oh yeah, and a special mention for Cass, who made a sterling effort today - a hard days work she can be proud of.
It's not easy sitting in the sun reading Heat all day you know!
(i do have photo evidence, but i think it may be more than my life is worth to post it up!) |

| Eventually yeah, but not right now - when i go 5 stud i'll be fitting my 17" Softstars, which need refurbing and tyres first so that's £400-£500 taken care of.
...but before i fit them i need to sort out the suspension, and i want Koni, so that's another £300+ unless i can find a good 2nd hand set.
And before that i've got to put a stainless cat back system on it aswell - so that's another £300!
I have just agreed to buy a stainless manifold and sports cat for dirt cheap though, so it's not all bad!
I've had the car nearly a year now, and i can't believe the progress i've made on it - would never have thought i'd be putting an XE in it so soon!
But then i wouldn't have predicted crashing it either.....gotta be the best silver lining ever!
As for me being ahead - you'd better get a move on then hadn't you! |

| what exhuast setup you going for????? I had real trouble sorting mine at the rear end as it has a much bigger petrol tank than uk models and had to be gently shown the way in with some bending.....
what tail pipe you gonna use...I want an oval one...inwardly rolled i think it was....like on teh cuope 888's i think...as thats the momery I have of both mine back home... |

| yeah, oval for me too - stupid not to really with the shape of the bumper cut out.
not sure what style though, probably inwardly rolled with a slash cut - like the magnex ones.
As for the setup it'll be a custom cat back (hence the cost) i spoke to the guys at the Sportex factory yesterday, they're the only 'off the shelf' option, but they couldn't send me a schematic for their exhaust to see if it would fit or not.
The said they would do a custom 1 for me, but they only do mild steel and they're ages away up north, so i'm going to get a powerflow system locally or something. |

| Day 1 of the XE conversion @ Drizz Developments! (Sorry for the camera phone pics, forgot the digicam - will do better tomorrow)
Going up!
De-restricted the airbox, also removed the carbon canister/resonator bottle from in the wing.
Look at this \/ What a mess! Got a new one to go on tomorrow.
Starting to come out.
Going down!
Now that's close!
Dan swapping the steering arms for some not banana shaped ones i acquired at Billing this year. We also decided to junk the air-con - the whole system has been open to the atmosphere since the crash - and I'm told that the receiver/drier thing would now be funked, plus it saps valuable BHP!
Cheesy "I'm standing in an engine bay" Grin shots!
Drizz
Me!
How we left it for the day
Tomorrow we'll be pottering around sorting out the suspension, rear hub + brakes while we await the arrival of Brian to sort out the cambelt change.
Hoping to at least have the engine in the bay by the close of play tomorrow - then it's off out for what will be a well deserved beer for a belated birthday celebration from the afore mentioned Brian!
Deoending on how much time we have tomorrow evening you might get another update before we go out, if not, it'll be sunday night when i get back home. |

| why junk the air con, so what if it saps a few bhp but surely keeping cool and keeping an IE to the right spec is better then just junking because 'apparently' something 'might' be damaged.

Tom | I trust the judgement of those that have advised me, it would have been 2 much of an arse to refit it at a later date and i can afford it right now. That's why. Quote:
