My LET Estate project thread....

Now some of you may remember that i used to have a black mk3 Astra sport estate that id 5 studded and put a LET in. I dont have any pics as my old PC is dead so if anyone has some put em up. I had to break it due to personal probs at the time but i always wanted another one. Ive been after a Gold estate for a long time as thats the colour id like but due to the lack of them and the cost i thought i may as well go mental on the white one i already have.
I have so so many plans for it but as we all know they dont always come to light so ill keep them to my notepad and fill you in as and when they appear.
First part of the plan was to get a good LET, and at the time a lot of people thought i was mental but my Vectra gave way to a Corsa LET which at the mo is my daily run around. This will give up its engine for the estate. I have also been given back my old Cavalier Turbo (minus the LET) which will resume daily use once the corsa comes off the road. Theres a seperate thread started about that with regards to where the LET went. (http://www.migweb.co.uk/forums/proje...ml#post3343153)
So due to my current back problem, i enlisted Andy A2 to help make a start. Heres some pics to get this thread going, as its going to take a long long time to get this finished, oh and a miracle as most people that know me will remember i normally give up/break/scrap/sell my projects...

The Vectra that made way for the corsa:

The Corsa with the rebuilt and well modded LET (around 280bhp at the mo)

And todays progress. Stripping started for bare shell respray. Andy was a godsend as i couldnt do hardly anything due to my back:

I shall update again soon....

Don't bloody do it gold, it'll look like a Renault 19 or something.

Do it satin black with gunmetal wheels.

Last one was black so this one wont.
Broccade has been discussed but im not too keen...

Turbo spec:

Compressor side.
0.42A/R housing
60 Trim compressor wheel 34lb/min max flow.

Turbine side.
0.48A/R housing - 5 bolt style, uses bolt on swing valve/wastegate housing ala RS500

Oil cooled centre cartridge. Standard journal and thrust bearings.

Unit is brand new from Garrett.

Comes with 0.63A/R RS500 turbine housing (has usual crack around wastegate hole but still usable) if more power is required or later spool up.
Swingvalve/wastgate housing. This is the standard Garrett one not Ford RS500.

Technically its hybrid T3 territory!
