Cavalier Saloon, with pics

Ive just bought myself a nice original M reg Cav saloon 1.8

Its had 2 women owners from new and has never been messed around with, has lots of sevice history, and even the docs from when it was brand new!

Its just ready for a few nice subtle mods

I did the timing belt last night, and im going to service it today cos im going to blackpool in it for the weekend

Finally a shot of the engine, which will very soon be ripped out and replaced (see sig for details )

I will post more pics as it continues

Nice Car... Good Condition... No oil on the engine... Or not anything to worry about!

Would like to see what you do with it (Got a couple of Cav Spares in my shed if you want some stuff to mess around with)

Today i have mostly been servicing, and have done the following:

New oil and filter
New air filter
New rocker cover gasket, also changed rocker cover for one with a different breather pipe and changed internal filter

New plugs, leads, rotor arm and dizzy cap
New CTS
I also gave the throttle body and the breather pipes a good clear out, and fitted my retro metal oil filler cap

This last pic shows why i like Vauxhalls, its an 8 valve cambox with an xe dizzy that fitted straight on,. no modding required, so i will be converting to mpi with xe managment next week.

The turbo is waiting as ive decided to make a custom inlet, and that takes time

18E manifold is preffered if using 16v management as the tps will go onto the throttle body easier, but any mpi inlet will do, as its easy enough to make an adaptor plate.

Using seh/ne management is straightforward, but you would not get full potential due to lower c/r and its only a 1.8 as well.

Im going to test it on this engine, but i have another 2ltr ready to go in as soon as i get the wrinkles out

Im having to leave the turbo for a while as the cav is now my daily driver, but that just gives me more time to make more power
