juggz astra gsi rebuild!

ok,so here we go. basically the car was started last june and here`s a few pics. as it was.


then there was this that needed sorting


the inside of the arches did`nt seem that bad.

so the car was stripped and then taken to my mates body shop.

new panels on

so new gsi panels went on along with the drivers sill.

had an hour or so to kill,so i had a go at polishing up my bonnet catch.


results were quite good for how long it took.

ok,bit of an update.these pics are 3wks old been on hols since then,the shell had been sprayed but there was a couple of tiny dents in the rears so it was all being ready`d for re-doing.

also the boot has been de badged and sprayed,but its a darker blue(?),so its being re-done.

having the toe eye cover blended in also,stops it from being nicked too.

the splitter needs a bit of tlc after years of speed bump bullying!

thats it for now,hopefully will see whats been done in the last 3wks in the next couple of days!

Really good work going into this by the looks of it. You seem intent on having it done properly which is refreshing.

Looks good, just one thing, why didnt you also take the engine out and paint the bay or is that being done.

the bay is near enough spotless,theres just so much dust in there you cant tell
alot of it is going to be stripped out and cleaned up/polished if needed sprayed.

the boot got re-sprayed and the glass was being put in,the bonnet is a bit dusty thats why it looks a bit dull. hopefully it`l be done with the bodyshop bits in a couple of wks,then it`l be ready for the rest to be done at home!
