    HOW much sealant? OMFG

You really don't need to use that much sealant when the sump is going to be sat with no oil in it for over 48 hours ben.

My C20LET sump got done in dan's garage and had a small bead of sealant on it, and then left for 4-5 hours to go off when tight, then check all bolts for tightness and bingo, no leaks at all.

IMHO that looks a little messy with it squidged out the sides

    looks worse that it is,
i ran my finger along the front to smear it along, but it was a lil tacky dry,
will cut off any exs when its dry,
i did a simple bead along it all and looped it around the holes,
