| Would have thought you'd take the oppurtunity to go a bit more with the power benn, match the looks etc.

| Lapping the valves and stem seals whilst the engine is out would be well worth it Benn.
The seals were the cause of my oil use before I did them on my new head.
Up to you of course.

| Benn without wanting to sound sensible, if you're having the lump out anyway would it not make sense to fit it up with a set of carb's as planned (40's will work if you have them jetted properly, just won't make as much power as on 45's...) and do the small bit of wiring needed nice and tidy as it all goes back in...
I vote silver for box and bottom end, hand polish the outside of the head as much as you can - use a dremel etc to set it super smooth Would look sweeeeeeeeeeeet.

| I think AL is talking some sense there. Stick the 40s on so everything is in place then it will be an easy swap to 45s surely?
And oh, don't be so cheeky! Respect your elders

| Update.............................
engine wise,
sorted out sump gaskets and seals and bits,
cluch in the garage waiting, flywheel off getting lightened and bal,
Gear box all painted up in a nice bright silver...
was gonna polish it..but after looking at all the small bits i thought no..i wouldnt have the time, and the boys at the polishers said it would be hard getting in the small bits, so silver with polished bits it is...
Started stripping the car...as it was running a lil poo after a small fire :eek
Bonnet off lights out, wiring loom out..
perfect place to store stuff...
Bit dirty under there...needed a tart up...so...
Before...
After...
But should i do the front arches like it??
gonna carry on in a bit....
And lastly my newly tinted in kandy red light....
not sure onthe fully clear bits..might need a light smoking...what do you think? |

I'd do the arches black or grey like your bumpers.
Lets hope these carbs can get on there for PV!

Lights look cool. | i got it for a fiver for the tube...normaly about30ish as its windscreen bonda stuff,
takes a few hours to fully harder...
i might have a spare tube....
and yeah a small wiring fire....behind the dash....panic? yes i did!
the roof light wiring rubed thru...got a lil warm...and caught light behind the fuse box...
so panicing as you do....i put it out with the hose.
After wards...i thought the hose wasnt the best thing to use.
might fix one light to see how it looks...
cheers keith, |
