I remember binning the underbonnet sound deadening on my GSi. Damn heavy & usually the clips break off & it hangs down into the engine bay.

    Weighs a tonne too.
    it's a C20XE not a fookin Redtop FFS

I'm happy its a nice bit of spec, Its brand new, As are the clips and i didnt think it weighted much, but i'm not a striped out feel anyway so,

Got a few bits at the power coater at the mo, waiting on some chrome too,
Gotta get on with my water pipes and bit this weekend.

I binned my sound deadening as water used to get in through the bonnet vents and make it damp. Also doesn't help with all the heat generated from a LET as it helps keep the heat in.

lol i see everyone come out of the wood work with them now...

i've never really noticed the bonnet get warm with the xe, so should be ok there...

just a nice bit of spec really...
if i dont like it or have probs with it i'll sell it,

    Update.

After getting a pair oh 8k HIDs from nicky boy.. i thought i better getthem fitted,

So with the front stripped off they could be all hidden...

We had to extend the power side of the loom as my battrey isnt up front like newer cars...
    No hole...

    Small hole...lol

    Loom running up inner wings..

    P cliped up all nice..

    Loom, hidden under the headlights..

    Huge relay hidden under headlight..

    Now we had a prob,
N/s light wasnt working , So we changed over the bulbs... it worked on the o/s side tho..
So we changed the blasts... Aame thing... Checked the grounds.. everything was ok..
Then while dan was looking and checking everything was pluged in ok... He noticed the power lead from the bulb can plug in either way up in.. One way up no power.. Other way it works fine.... So remember kids check them pluged in the right way!

Look alot brighter than in the pic..

They are much better than the standard nova bulbs.. Even "uprated" bulbs

The thing i've been searching for... A really clean, Clear pure light.. No piss yellow tint.

Now the beam is still the right hight and looks good, But the kinda kerb light up bit is way to high... now sure yet how i can fix that.. but will get it on the beam patton machine at work and have a play...

Big thanks to Astra Dan for helping me fit them all,

look right bright benn, how much did they cost, were they straight forward enough to rig up, ive always thought nova lights were pretty crap in standard form as they aint exactly the brightest lights, especially on country lanes

What do the bulbs look like? Fit Nova lamps OK (no mods?)

I expecting to see the headlamps being sliced up to get the bulbs in or summat. Still MOT legal?

    Oh & NICE!

Right fit ment.. yes and no, then sit in the holes nice a snug, but the retaining clip doesnt fit at all.
As the bulb has the motor box on the back of it...
so i had to cut off one side of the clip making it n L shape..
then clip it on, The cut the rubber boot to fit them too.

Mot they should be ok, as the beam is still right... theres just a bit more cast off/kerb lighting..

Will get pics of the back on the headlight if you want one...

    Update

With my week off i've wanted to get a few things done...
Starting with my sump, which has been leaking in the corner by the oil filter...

    Manifold comming off,

So happy i have a garage...

Filled up like that in 2mins...

Just for brett heres what i was laying on..

Sump off, getting the baffle plate off...

A nice clean pick up pipe...

Oil filter off... Nice golden oil... Was only changed before combe,

Found an extra pair of hands, Handly if working by your self....

Everything going back on... Using the ectech baffle plate, with a small line of rtv over the crank end bity, and oil pump joins.
    All up and bolted up..

Took her down the road, cant see anyleaks....

    Tomoz brakes lines

You know how much I love it, I almost made early morning love to it.

It's just so cool that you're not going for massive power, you're just making it nice.
