Went out and gave the inlet a coat of paint..
Lacquered.
See something i hate is this...
As you know i buffed the main bits of my jubilee clips..
So did this... Then thought "Wtf am i doing?" Couldn't pick a colour either.. So did a test.
Lacquered my washer jets too..

****in cool clips lmao
awesome update too, so many details![]()
Signature not as cool as Paul's
Good idea with the clips but asson as you put a screwdriver on them its bye bye paint
Nice little touches your making tho. You'll like the 4 pots tho Benn. You may find they take a little longer to warm up tho.
nice detailingits little touches like that which really make it stand out

SS clips all the way, sorry I really think that's something you just don't paint.
what's with the recess in the inlet too? I'm already lost as to what's been done let alone why.
Cheers dude.
A screw driver? Dude! Use a hand driver! I might come off yes but i'll have to wait and see.
If they work i'll be happy... lol
Thank you Sir.
Its only the screw bit that rust, i did a few in black and it worked quite well.
They all are stainless, but most of them the screw bit (the head with you do up) still isn't stainless, just the main body is, which is poo hence why i did the paint. I replaced a lot with ones from a boat shop, they are ment to all be stainless but the screw bit still discolours so i'm thinking its not.
Inlet, has been cut and welded for a better angle, the std route is cut and would mean i'd have to cut the slam panel (which i think looks sh*t) so it cut and welded with more angel towards the gap the air piping comes thru.. Make better sense? There's no recess.

The beaut of having a job like mine is using new jubilee clips and throwing the dirty ones back in the box for use in breakdowns lol

Please ensure all events queries are pm'd in my direction. Please be patient and i will get back to you very soon.
Sorry, on the turbo there's a lip that sticks out, the inlet has a small recess cut in to it as a extra seal i guess..

Got loads done to day.

All must be going well as i saw benn mincing, sorry i mean (driving!) through town earlier! lol
Did you?

Spend all yesterday getting all the bits done. Got the inlet on and sorted, the angle isn't 100% so getting the air tubing on is a bastard. Dont know if it was me, or the guy that welded it has moved it. Either way it on.
Got a the new actuator on.
Got the rad fitted,
Stat on with new silicone pipe and polished and painted jubilee clip.
Fitted the new turbo water on, fit is utter sh*te if i have it sitting how it should the pipe sticks up and over the slam panel, is to long. Any one else's the same?
Filled it with oil to see if the sump leaked and left it over night..
Started early this morning..
Made a new water pipe bit, nice stainless. Polished it up, but wasn't happy to sanded it off again today.
Buffed up.
Pushed the car out side for the first time in almost 2months so i could rinse the heat matrix thru, with that done i could finish piping up the water system.
Got the IC back in and all pipped back up.
Looks alot more tidy with the new silicone on, but some how i've deleted the pics of it with the air tubing off..
Best i have..
All piped up and filled with water and new Blue (matches the car) antifreeze. Yes i know the water feed pipe isn't right but its worse pointing up.
Bay needs a really good clean, polished rad on show..
Fans back on with new fittings.
Took it for a test drive, everything was ok. Give it some to test out the boost as i had fitted the new actuator.. No boost.. Oh what have i done?
Get back.. The nut must have not been tighten as it had come off the end of the bar so the gate was just opening, with a nice new stainless nut on it was fine.. Oddly.
Bumper back on and top hat cover on.
Then headed off to meet Dan and Sharon who did the same to me..lol
Found i was getting a little bit too much boost.. About 15psi, so had to adjust that in a lay by by the motorway.. Always fun in a hot engine bay.
Here Dan helped me (thanks) just driving my car to the meet, i cant see what i do and don't like till the car is moving you see. So i jumped in with Sharon (thanks) and took a few pics..
Hhhmm need to make my side lights abit brighter i think..
Oh yea.. It was raining. Spent 2months dry.. Now sopping wet.

loving it Benn, IO have been tidying up my engine bay a bit as well, but nothing like yours. Brakes look good, can't wait to get the ones you sold me fitted, but will have to wait till next month as need to get tires for my new 15" wheels, and can't afford yet so will have to wait till after the RR day.
Mate you engine bay is nice. A credit to you
