Thanks for all the interest in this project.

Progress is slow on the shell, i'm still just refurbing other parts of the car. Front axle is done, rear 1/2 of the prop is looking nice and I'm doing the rear axle at the moment.

This is how its been looking since our 'summer' began.

With all the rain the welding that I have done has got full of surface rust, even with the cover on it. It will take a while to clean it all up again, and by which time it'll probably be raining again. I going to put the welding on hold until its under cover (hopefully not too long now).

Nice project.

I've started to overhaul my manta aswell, it's a black coupe. I'm going for a redtop conversion.

I have started to find a lot of rust, do you have any detailed pics of the rust you have found and the repair work you have carried out.

Cheers,
Mick

These opels are a bugger for catching rust, quite a lot of it too, I have one that is most prbably in a similar state probably a degree better, I shall be taking it for an MOT soon and will find out if there are any real issues, I was meant to have taken it for an MOT about 6 months ago, but left it for a while as I don't drive it and renewed its road tax for the whole year before the previous MOT expired. Good job there isn't an automatic fine for failing to renew MOT or declare off road!
