Hmm, this is starting to look a halfords special. Far to much tacky silver paint and a proper botched up painted block imo.
I'm a firm believer in if you gonna do it, do it right.

how can u botch up paitin the block? its was red, and i panited it red again?

and the silver, all the metal bits were silver when they're new arnt they? inlet, head, sump, etc

    its all proper engine/block paint?

the only bit thats not ment to be silver is the dizzy cap, but then that would of been the only red plastic bit in the bay?

I don't see where you're coming from either????

Admitedly, I wouldn't have painted the block black personally.

Dont get me wrong its not.......that bad, lol.
Yep i agree youve painted silver things...er silver again but its the actual silver paint that looks tacky imo. Its not got a very good finish, imo un-painted but clean looks better. It reminds me of the parts you get back from re-con, like a turbo i once got back from TT....****ing sliver paint all over the comp housing, took me ages to get it off, lol.
I'm not into concours stuff but i do like to keep all aspects of the engine neat and tidy.

fitted the throtle body back on and all the vacuum n water pipes

then decided to leave the engine and moved to the bay!

when i took the engine i noticed the loom for the back of the engine was a 'hazard' to say the least

with open joints like this all over the place

and a few months ago i moved all the loom on the left hand side, so now i wanna sort out this mess on the right hand side

decided im gonna have just one wire goin to the battery positive and one wire goin to the battery negative!

goin to remake all the starter and alternator wires usin some amp cable i have, already done the earth one!

goin to get the proper connectors and make up the starter/alternator loom in the blue cable!

and goin to have a juction box up by the bulk head so all the little wires for car loom and accesories that normally go to the battery positive will be hidden away down the back behind the abs unit!

really getting stuck in there ! i like your enthusiasm

right idea with the loom, really important to get that happy for a happy LET i highly recommend soldering it all and using shrink wrap insulation (buy online from maplins)

had another bash at the loom

here's the mess how it was to start with

i took all the single wires that were goin to the battery positive and re-routed them along the lip of the inner wing and to an amp juction box,

barely noticeable with the header tank in

and a much neater inner wing! just the dam abs loom runnin across the middle!

an just goin to have one thick blue wire goin to the battery, and make the starter/alternator loom out of the thick blue cable too!

so they're will only be one thick wire goin to the battery positive!
