whats going on with the rolling road now have you decided who your going to use?

yep, certainly well looked after mate can garentee you that! the only way is up for the astra now

yea it wont end up like your black one, first couple of chips it gets it'll be gettin a respray!

yea still got it booked into t&m on thurs so gonna go just for a rollin road go, and then got it in at engine advantages next month so can have opinions from two places on it then!

gettin a new exhaust front section made up in stainless thursday mornin before the RR, then wen i save up some big dosh again gonna get a full system made up, and then i'll prob give it a courtney RR set up, then i'll be happy!

well here they are behind the 18s!

    looks apsolutly spot on

BUT unfortinatly it just isnt to be!

there is loads of room between the spokes and end of caliper where i fort it was gonna hit, but it hits the inner edge of the rim diameter wise

    GUTTED TO THE MAX

as the inside of the wheel is curved, if i was to space the wheel out a fair bit they would clear and fit in nicely! but unfortanlly the wheels would then sit out of the arch!

so int gonna be able to put them on the super astra

to cheer my self up i had a mess around with me old nova brakes just to comform how big these monsters were!

aw well was worth a try anyway!

Just put a 5mm spacer on there. I run my nova with 5mm spacers and its fine. I've even got a spare set somewhere I can sling in the post for you to try?

    Simps.

You HAVE to get them behind those wheels some how, it looks good now, would look even better actually on the car.

Surely the wheels wouldnt be to far out with spacers? even if it's just until you can find some new ones

WOW that is a very nice Astra
The brakes are BIG...If you dont fit them, how much would you sell them? i have 19's so i dont think it would be a problem to fit them in my Vectra

    cheers lads!

i have looked at spacin them out, just tried with washers and would need to be about 20mm-ish to clear the wheel! and would just sit rite out the arch!

did think about possibliity of goin down the reiger wide arch route, but ive already done the wide arch vauxhall thing with me nova and fancied the stealth look with the astra! could look at a different style/make of 18s, because aparently they did deffo fit under the 18s of the car they were made for, but i like my wheels! and a full wide arch kit and a new set of wheels seems a bit extreeme just to get some brakes on! so looks like they wont be goin on

shame because i really wanted this!!!

Had my new exhaust system fitted today! its now 2 1/2 inch all the way from the turbo to where it splits around the spare wheel well! i couldnt beleive what a difference it made! it was a mish mash of 2 inch and 1 3/4 inch and the centre box bore was 1 1/2 inch! now all 2 1/2 inch

feels like i've gained an exta 50bhp  cant beleive how restricted it was before! 1st to 4th gear really really shove you back in your seat! i love it!

the exhaust was this morning, and this afternoon was the long awaited rolling road

wasnt sure if the splitter would make it on there as its so low, but it did just with millimeters to spare, but the guy was havin touble tieing it down because the towin eye sits so far back in the bumper

so the bumper had to come off, here it is being centralised

and here are two of the power runs

and the bit you've waitin for the graph!

its in kW, but it works out at

    303 BHP
    307 ft/lb torque

    thats 256bhp at the wheels!

nice smooth graphs just as it should be! how happy am i

now i can say its offically 300bhp

    a BMW again lol
well for a start, I see he says at the top of the power graph.....

    1kw= 1.364 bhp
    When it should be
    1kw= 1.341

Therefore, I work it out to be

    254.7942bhp at the engine!
