polished the rocker cover and cambelt cover up today as it was startin to dull off a bit,

and a nice bit of polishind later! bling bling!

put the sump back on today, and the rocker cover on properly,

and decided i didnt like the dipstick and breather tube on the front red, so i took all the paint off and did it silver instead!

all back together proply now, just awaiting the gearbox back in the next couple of days!

Those nuts on the manifold studs are not the ones you are gonna use are they? They should be LET Washers and nuts.

You can use those type mate but ideally you should use the propper LET ones like these...

They aren't cheap tho and can be hard to get hold of. In the least I would refit some new ones of the type you have (XE type) as they're are copper so cut into the thread.

The manifold gets extremely hot and normal nuts aint up to the heat apparently.

The right ones are expensive, even the washers are aver £1 each but they are used for a reason so I ended up buying a set to be safe.

IIRC the washers cost more than the nuts lol. £1.75 a washer and £1.50 for a nut or around that mate. I just bought a set for mine not cheap

lmfao! cannot see why you need the allen type nuts! no one with an after market manifold runs them, and they have no problems! and you have also said your let already had these std nut type ones on so there fine, as youve obviously managed to undo them! which is more than can be said for the allen type ones after a few mileslmao waste of money imo!

yea that was for the bolts n washers!

rang up the gearbox bloke to pick my gearbox up today, but got the disapointing reply that aparently the bits still hadnt turned up from regal, so after over 3 weeks the 'box still isnt done! which ultimatly means the astra wont be makin it to PV! am proper gutted to the max! wish i just left the dam thing in and traveled up on the 5 remaining gears!
