T34, Custom Inlet, Emerald
Iv'e just bought a MK3 gsi, sadly a non turbo model, wat can i do to get some extra power from it without spending loadsa money? iv'e always loved my vauxhalls and wanna do my beloved gsi up properly.....
I suggest you do a search Alex, as that question has been done to death. In a nutshell you're not gonna get much more out of it without spending more than the car probably cost you.

Dear Ronnie,
I really love this car. Could you post some more pictures of your backbox underneath the car of the exhaust??
I like the double sided exhaust. I hope you stil can make pictures of it.
Regards, Robert
How are the brakes Ronnie?
I Will try and get some pic's of the exhaust for you as your the second person thats asked me now![]()
and the brakes are er fine? lmao were taken off the astra and donated to the van and then taken off the van and put on the cav, and just been taken off the cav and are sitting in the unit![]()
Sorry wrong thread, thought it was your cav one! Doh!
not had a lot to do today, so took the chance and read the whole thread again. what a great read, you are such a talented guy. i wish i could do bodywork & mechanics lol. cant wait to see how the rwd thread is going to be!
good luck mate! and all the best
nath
Cheers mateyea this thread has got a bit of sentimental meaning to me now as its the first time i ever came on the internet when i got the car, i have read all the way through a couple of times myself since it finished, and still makes me proud of it all

Ronnie, I know this thread has been effectively 'dead' for a while but when it was bumped the other day I've read it all the way through. It's taken me a few evenings but it's been more entertaining that watching the telly by a long shot!
Before I get cracking reading the RWD thread, I wanted to post up to say how this thread has motivated me to get my finger out and crack on with my own various projects (though none of them are anywhere near as ambitious as this!). Every time the car's kicked you in the nuts you're straight back up and at it again.
It's a shame how that bloody oilway ended the car in FWD form, but I'm hoping that you're having more luck with the RWD version.
Lastly, I think it's fair to say that anyone who has ever picked up a spanner would agree that you're a LEGEND!!!![]()

Thanks very very very muchthere certainly was alot of passion in the build back then lmao looking at the dates of updates it was like update christmas eve, update christmas day, update boxing day, update 27th dec, update 28th dec, update 29th dec, update 30th dec, update 1st jan update 2nd jan, oh look we're in another year lmao was pretty much daily updates,
i try to make my threads a good read, and i hope they are, both entertaining and informative for anyone else trying to do the same kinda thing![]()
the rwd thread got off to a cracking start, but kept getting distracted by other things if you've read the van thread spiraling out of control lmao and now we've started a family all the times been taken up, but hoping to get the rwd project back on track soon![]()
wow took me 3 days to read up from start to finish you have had some ruff times but i see your still determined to not be knocked down.
The jobs you have done are amazing and i admire all the work you have done!
I my self am now restoring my gsi s its a bit rough (bad previous owner paint job)
And i hope to use some of your Little tidy jobs (ie the wiring looms)
But oh no i now have to read up on the rwd thread
oh well more bettime reading
keep up the good work m8 i want to see the finished article![]()
i didnt think it was too bad really, obviously if you held it on the limiter and went through the gears first second third fourth your front wheels will be doing 130mph and your rear wheels will be doing 10mph, but driven sensibley it was good, there are many people on here with c20let fwd track cars with more power than i ever had![]()
but to behonest its been over a year and a half since i last drove it (so long ago) so can hardly remember, but something i never forget was how well it performed in 4th 5th and 6th, never felt/heard/experienced anything pull like it did at high speeds, almost felt like it accelerated as fast in 3rd as it did in 6th
oh i miss it
