You'll have to take the LEDs and the resistors out of the holders (should be all nicely soldered together if they're expensive ones ), then glue them to where the bulbs went on the heater controls.
Teeth? LUXURY! When I was a child we ate by putting rocks in our mouth and jumping up and down.

i need some of them LED's for one of my gauges, they come in all sorts of different sizes so that was may be why they didnt fit.

did you have the throttle cable routed like that before but i dout that will be causing any issues

we use the 3M stuff at work, compounded it with green top then finessed it with yellow top!

yea i brough the leds off a guy on here, brought a set for my dash, with take some pics and show the problems with it

the throtle cable wasnt that way before, but my mates with a LET nova, a XE nova and a XE corsa are all running theres like that, and its still fully free moving!

Forgot where i was at with following this thread so just read it from the start again to remember it all ( 3 and a bit hours later ). I cant believe the transformation this car has undertook in such a short space of time i wish i could be so dedicated to my cars lol ( and afford to be able to do things like this lmao ). The cars looking stunning mate hope to catch it at some of the shows this year, really want a project of my own but just dont know where to start . How did you learn how to do it all or did you just pick it up as you went along. Truly stunning keep up the top work, cant wait till you start the 4x4 conversion that will be an interesting read. Re: my new mk3 astra gsi...... turbo ;)

not updated it for a while, been spending all the nights faffing around with different bits trying to get it working and that!

i decided to fit my walbro fuel pump

    standatd gsi one out

comp****n for the inlet on the standard and walbro, ones fuel pipe size, ones hose pipe size lmao

    cradle all stripped out

    and new one all in

    and back in car

ive done 400 miles now (stalling everywhere ) so changed the oil and filter, and did the fuel filter too

fuel filter didnt look like it had been changed for a whole long time lol

and all the petrol tank side was really blacky lol

while i was under ther i noticed the paint was stripped and peeling traced it up to one of the brake lines was leaking and dripping a bit of fluid down the althernator and tot he driveshaft

the fliar wasnt quite flat, so re did it and was fine

    all looking good

going to the vauxonline RR day sunday, so going to get it up on the ramp tomorrow and give it a goot check over now ive been giving it some large lol check everythings still all ok!

Re: my new mk3 astra gsi...... turbo ;)

    a weekends update again!

took the astra into work again to use the ramp

trying to calibrate the lambda again last week to check the settings we could not budge it, had out strong arms out and everything, it seemed like the bung i had welded in had gone oval! managed to get it half way out and would not go any more, ended up dent the **** out of it rounding it all off, so ordered another from GGR (top bolkes, amazing delivery time!!) and ordered a heat sink bung aswell to try and make the sensor last longer, and to make taking it out easier! so first job was trying to get the lambda out

lucky i had that manly bracket welded to the downpipe, otherwise i would of snapped the turbo off with that bad boy lol

    got the heatsink bung fitted

calbriated and fitted the new lambda

with the mechanicals done that i wanted i them wanted to get it all spruced up for the vauxonline rolling road shoot out as TV were going too

so whipped all the wheels off

and gave them a good clean inside and out

fitted the splash guards (drivers one courtsey of drizz  )

and fitted the wheels back on, came out like new

then started to give the outside a colour magic up, did the lower half while it was still on the ramp so lazy me didnt have to bend down lmao

    and did the rest

    ahhhhhhh coulour magic hands

then it was time to put all the interior back in, still sat at this at presant

put all the interior panels and cards back in and cleaned it all up

put my cover on the new eleccy mirror also aquired from dan

    and ready to roll

the gell'd up tyres left some intresting marks in the workshop lol

all brand new and ready for the RR day tomorrow!

went out for a meal so a nice carpark shot

Re: my new mk3 astra gsi...... turbo ;)

then went for a drive round town after and thats when the problem hit

larging it round a round about and then a bang and dang dang dang all the way under the car and steering went ouver, so quickly pulled over wondering what the **** had fell off??

went and had a look round the round about to see, and found a big bolt sat in the middle?? then clicked it was a subframe bolt :O:O luckly i had a full on tool kit with me ready for the 400mile round trip torrow (confindent i know) so could jack it up and had tourches etc, and found two subframe bolts were missing :O so looked again on the round about for the other one and luckerly enough it was there too, so though lucky escape (bearing in mind im about 20miles from home) thought they'd just come loose and fell out, so a case of putting them back in, had all the equipment with me! it was the very rear one and the middle one on the drivers side!
i looked at the bolts to check they were ok and the bolts were fine, but they also had
another thread on them, the thread from the captive nuts in the floor?? it had wripped both of them clean out! tried to screw the bolts back in but they just pushed in and out of the floor!!! it had pulled the shreads clean out on the nuts!
not a clue how i was going to get it home! if it was just the subframe bolts i would of driven it home on the other 3 bolts slowly relying on gravity! but the rear one is also for the rear wishbone mount! so it was only being hels in by the front one, defantly not driveable! and i couldnt put the bolt in as it just fell out! tried winding the middle bolt into the rear hole (as its a larger shaft) but wasnt having any of it! an hour of trying to wind it in unsucessfully! so then tought if i could just get it to hold in it would hold the bottom arm in place to drive, so jacked the car up so the subframe was hanging down a bit, put the bolt up through and put a cable tie round the top of it to stop it dropping out, and let the car back down

drove slowly and carfully and made it home, not an easy job with solid engine mounts and a a paddle clutch! but it made it!

so sunday woke up to the astra back to just being an ornament again

and thought and thought of how to fix it, in the end decided i'd just take the van to the RR day, give it a go on the rollers! i really wanted to go, had alreeady paid, and wanted to meet the vauxonline boys as i'd saed id go! not a little journey for me, from felixstowe tot he other side of birmingham! 200miles and 3 hours driving in the worlds bumpyest van!! but just as we got through birmingham 3 hours 10mins after leaving i got a tex from ste the organiser saying it was all over and TV had left and the RR was being locked up gutted! was just 10 mins away too! had back ach and sea sicness from the noisey bumpy ride so chilled in a macdonalds, the girl in there looked at me as a forigener when i placed my order and i couldnt undersand her lmao then got back in the van and the stero woldnt turn on all fuses were ok so got the multi meter out of the boot,, and the battieries were flat so set off the long drive home me and me mate sitting there in silence! so got back home, 7 hours of driving in the worlds most uncumfy van, 400miles and 50quid of diesal, didnt get the van or astra on the rollers, didnt get in TV mag, and came home to a astra with threadlkess nuts gutted is not the word

so gotta work out how to fix the astra! dunno if it was due to them being over tightened and the pressure just got tot hem or what?? cant work it out?? the captive nuts are in the chassis leg sections, so the only way to rplace the nuts is to cut the chassis legs open cut out the old nut and weld a new one in! did think about trying to fit bigget bolts in the there and re tapping the captive nuts bigger, but dunno who much room i have as i cant see how big the nuts are! so no idea how im gonna do it yet, not gonna be straight forward how every it goes

so it shiney, but back to being 'display-use-only'
