...monster,,,,like it a lot...
Love the carbon areofoil screen,
I'm louder than gods own revolver and twice as shiney.
Seats arriived. I've mounted the drivers seat, but the passenger seat needs a little bit of a trim to get to sit straight.

They're so cheap it's unreal! I was going to get a pair of full carbon seats at around £400 each but these are £190 for a PAIR! The carbon tops were an extra £30 and the upholstery was £59 per seat but they do come with standard trim for less - I just wanted something a bit tarty lol. Still a bleddy bargain IMO

A bit of a continuation from my dash-building post, I thought I'd add a bit about how I've integrated the stalk into the dash and attempt to make it look as 'factory' as possible.
With a piece of MDF I cut out a small raised section for around the stalk and steering wheel area.
Using some Araldite I glued the raised section into place onto the ply dash.
The idea is to have the guages sitting neatly inside the cut out pods.
A little bit of 'shaping' to the raised section makes it look much less angular.
With the steering wheel in place I can be sure that everything is in the right place and needs no more fine tuning.
For SVA purposes I need a return edge of (I think) 19mm so I've cut out 2 lengths of MDF to follow the contours of the underside of the dash.
With the return edge in place I just check that the dash still fits as it should. Happy with it I can now get the whole dash finished.
I got a mate with a flocking business to set about the dash with his flocking wand (Sorensen Road Sport - 01752 603500) and I'm really pleased with the results.
The finish is absolutely flawless.
The dash is put into place and all of the guages and switches plugged in.
And finally with the wheel on it's done and I can get on with other stuff at long last! I'm so pleased with it I don't think I'll bother with the carbon dash at all so expect a Mickmade carbon dash in the for sale section any time soon.

''THE REAL ROB''
Besides the dash, I've been concentrating on the bodywork, I also got these blingy harnesses bolted down.
Bodywork wise I started off with something simple by cutting the holes in the side panels for the side repeaters, and fitted a pair of smoked BMW units.
Removed the standard Westfield headlamp brackets and fitted the smaller M&P headlamps.
Next up was the mesh for the bonnet vents. First I cable-tied the side pod mesh into place from inside the bonnet.
Then I fibreglassed the mesh into place - this is the first time I've used this messy, horrible stuff so I wasn't expecting the results to be pretty!
After the side pods were stuck, I moved on to the large bonnet top vents. I weighted them down with a few pots of stuff and then glassed them to the bodywork.
Once dried I dropped the bonnet into place to assess my handywork. Theres some tidying up needed but apart from that I'm happy enough.

superb stuff as always!
Whats left to do now?
Left to do is
RAC Roll bar which I'm having a nightmare with
Exhaust - booked in for midweek
Fit the front wings
Fit the indicators and other headlamp and wire up
Fit Aeroscreen
Fit Bonnet hinge and locks
Cut hole for exhaust exit
Fuel Filler Cap - which wont be straight forward
Tidy up interior trim like handbrake surround etc
Balance Throttle bodies
Get mapped
I'm hoping to get all the bits I can do finished today leaving just the exhaust an mapping, but I may have a problem with the filler cap as the neck on the tank looks too tall.
Coming along quite nicely there chap, dash looks the mutts, is there anything Carl doesnt do...?
Love the dash. Headlights look very trick.

Great build mate, keep up the good work.
Rally drivers do it in the forest.....
looks awsome
are you going to have any issues with changing gear with the dash the way it is or is it just the angle the picture is taken??
what is the slit and little holes above the gear stick for??
i miss my vauxhalls breaking down
Awesome project Neil!
