SimonSR's nova project

I have always wanted a nova, then i saw this come up so i thought, its mine!

basically it started life as a shopping spec 1988 1.2 merit!

The last owner was the 2nd owner, and decided to modify it and this is what he had done to it:

1.4 sr engine, 32/34 weber, gte cam, rebuilt top end, astra ignition limiting it to 6800rpm, k&n, sr manifold to centre pipe, 3" stainless steel back box, 60mm drop on gmax shocks and springs, gte front bumper and grille, astra gear box (not sure which model or box, but its quite low ratio for acceleration) and some mk3 astra alloys.

when i got the car it was faded, seats stained, running rough etc etc and looking like this:

Since i bought it i have fixed all the problems, such as a knackered starter, altering the timing, cleaning the carb, new jets, fixing the rot on the back arch and started to do a few more mods!

I have spent a full weekend cleaning the car, polishing it, cleaning the engine bay, its now almost an exact colour match of its original colour (carmine red), as it was more carmine pink!
The standard interior was mucky n generally cack! untill i can afford/find some better seats, i have settled with some chav tastic seat covers. theyre ok, just plain black leather!
Audio now has a kenwood cd player, some 5.25" components in painted pods in the doors and will soon have some fli 6" on the back shelf
most of the interior will have cream alcantara, and other bits will be red or black!
The engine bay is now clean! polished k&n, painted and polished rocker, blue hosing.

I don't know what elseI am going to do, definately nothing chavvy!

I do know I am going to:

Paint the bumpers gloss black with red detailing, finish the interior, possibly tune the engine some more, keep it clean, paint and fit some gte skirts that i have and just generally enjoy it!

i have got some pics of it clean, however i will post them tommorow!

what do you all reckon?

Good starting point for a project mate.

All the hard work (engine etc) has been done. You really need some SR seats in there pronto. You must be sitting in the door pockets through corners!

Theres a set of SPAX adjustable suspension kit in the For SALE section a £150.. barely used. Bargain!

Keep us updated..

Cool didnt realise you had a sus kit.

Nice budget project. Manifolds neednt be too expensive. Tbh the SR seats will help you go quicker.
