Bloody hell, for the amount of little bottles you could have bought a regulator and hired a big bottle from BOC! Everything is looking good so far though!

lmao True! Nah I was borrowing a big ass draper welder for the most of it and as that's gone back to it's owner (thank Jock! ) I went out and bought a halfords cheap ass thing. The thing is it's magic! It's very very good for what it's designed for and is a dream to set up and use When your welding clean metal for all them odd jobs it is truely ****hot best thing I've bought for the money in a long time. Plus I'm only on my 2nd bottle of chuck away gas can you tell??lmao

You should of invested in some argoshield light, its so much nicer than welding with co2. You also get less spatter which is nice so you dont get welding burns all ova you !

Been doing a bit of filler...........

Then a fair amount of stopper...........

Then started to clean up under here for a wee bit of welding etc.......

Then knocked the stopper off. I noticed whilst doing it that the was a 'ickle warpage further up from the heat of welding so had to add a little...

Then I tackled the rust with some strange voodoo magic...

    Before..

    Woohoo magic gunk..

Woo ooo wash it of with magic neutriliser stuff and scotchbrite......

Whip a bit of etch on double quick good as new...

Finally some primer over the repairs to see wht they look like..

I aint quite happy with this one though lines are a bit "wrong"..

That's it kids feel free to try this at home........

I was gonna say looks good, but it doesnt!

In the nicest way you understand. I'm not gonna fall into the trap of spraying my man muck over some filler & primer. LOL

    Looking good though! Damn!

    Ends up looking like.........

    Slap a bit'o'dis on...

    Rolled and welded lip...

    Second coat......

You know an old timer once said to me "Boy have you ever seen a rusty fecking run??" With that in mind.........

    The other side

    Weldy weldy.......

    Clean up.......

You can see the same on this side where the shocker was.....Shocking eh? Bit of chemical action..

It's some stuff I got off the galvanizer near me. You brush/dip on leave for a bit then wash off with a neutralizing fluid and a bit of scotchbrite (like a scouring pad) prime within 3 hours. Dunno what's it's called as I'm not meant to have it ahem....... It just eats the oxidization back to metal. It's a alkaline or summat I was just nodding a lot thinking "just give me some fool" when I got the lecture It looks like skimmed milk wouldn't recomend drinking it in your tea though and it fizzes as well when you put it on
