| corsa trip tidy up! picked up this wee beast for buttons last weekend, started looking her over and cleaning her up this week before she gets tax in january.
dont expect any groundbreaking technological advances or mind blowing detail, this is simply a quick freshen up for a 10 year old baby vaux!
when she arrived she was dirty, covered in algae (sp?) and oils and generally looking a bit sorry!
here she is after a quick wash and some mild T cut action....
the 17s were imo awful to drive on, tramlining everywhere plus they make the car look like the pram i had as a baby! so there is some astra sport alloys waiting in the wings for a DIY refurb and i have some new tyres lying around that will go on them also waiting for the sport interior i was promised when i bought it! the old interior looks ****e, was covered in mould and worse still it was full of dog hair....which i am VERY allergic to, so it had to go.
got it stripped awaiting new seats and cards but left the fronts alone incase i have to use if before the new stuff turns up.
and a glimpse of the horror story that is the interior colourscheme complete with soon to be removed dirty **** in the shuts. (and the free haynes manual that i found in the not-quite-a-glovebox!)
some attention will definately be getting paid to the engine bay area as its scabby like an old whore!
as is the bonnet...
hopefully find a replacement bonnet soon, anyone got one in this colour?
thats all for now, i will update this tomoro if i get anything done (may not as im meeting andyracer in glasgow with the 17s, what a nutter driving all that way on hogmany, mentalist indeed!)
kenny.

| nah i bought this with the sole intention of using it as a comfortable, cheap form of transport. i was travelling from oban to glasgow (home, to college) every week on the train, the journey takes 3 hours and we get ****ty old carraiges. basically i just got sick of it.
engine will be staying as is...backbox and cone filter are the only mods. if i can afford higher insurance later on i have a 14se head and an SR cam that i can chuck in, which will be a bit nippier when coupled with a decent inlet system.
today i stripped the front end and started cleaning off any blisters, and just removing the easy bits and i will give it a coat of paint tonight to brighten it up. gonna stick my bilstein kit on it thats meant for my rally car. so it will be a ****ty 1.2 with full on group A rose jointed suspension haha.
will get pics after dinner. |

| got the front end painted up quickly tonight as there is no way in hell i will be doing it tomoro or tuesday due to the fact that i will be hungover. heres how it looks after one lick of hammerites finest.
definately a rush job but im not fussed about it, the car was cheap and wont exactly be attracting looks to the far reaches of the wheelarches the white suits the rally slag look that the car will no doubt end up with, too
heres a wee look at the suspension that will be going on, seems silly putting it on without harder bushes but maybe one day when i can be bothered
nova cup billies and tarmac springs for the front, theres a comparison with what came off.
thick rose jointed billies and random tarmac springs for the rear. almost as thick as the front shocker that came off!!!
and i will be refurbing these bad boys whenever i get a minute or 300
that'll do for now! time to go get washed up before i head out tonite.
happy new year to all |

| got the front end finished up today, gave the arches another quick coat of paint, washed down and refitted the arch liners and fitted my bilsteins.
also cleaned up the air filter and mounted it properly (well, its no longer able to move freely. tacked the front down with a nova fuel filler clamp and zip tied a nova wingmirror foam thingy to the airbox mount to stop vibrations!)
that will do for the front end for the time being until i source myself some 256mm disks and 16v calipers.
with a bit of luck tomoros update will involve finished rear end and some progress on the wheel front.

| forgot to update this badboy!
work ive done since the last update includes, painting the sills black again as the original paint was all coming off, painted the rear arches white to match the front! i think its gonna be quite a marmite issue but i love it! also as it was a trip it had **** all in it, so i stripped the door tweeters and rear shelf speakers out of my neighbours mk3 astra and fitted them to the corsa, also wired up a stereo from the clump of wires that were hanging from the hole in the dash however i didnt wire up the MFD plug which i will need to do soon as i have the astras MFD to fit too.
took it to Mull on saturday to watch some rallying and was in full on rally mode last night....then it snowed so i thought "why not" and went for a blast down the untreated backroads. very silly but so much fun. got it flat in 4th at one point, was bloody ****ting it also met a few verges and bushes
but thats what its made for so who cares.
some "after" pics from my wee rally sesh:
btw, i think it only looks so high cos the flash is lighting the white in the arches, it usually looks lower (its -60mm) |

| Nice work Kenny.
Were the wheels done with spray cans? The finish looks great one them.
What paint did you use to do the inner wings etc? Just gloss white hammerite? |

| Well last weekend me and kenny went on a wee road trip, he was selling the 17"s to andyracer on here, and getting a full (i mean every single plastic part minus dash) early corsa sport interior from a corsasport member.
The corsa 1.2 trip had all doorcards, carpets, and rear seats removed to give more space.
We left Fri night with the intention of staying at his flat in glasgow.
Left at about 10.30pm, and thought "feck it, keep going and see what happens"
Came accross a nice xmas tree at the roadside....
So we just had to take some tinsel for the corsa..
Headed down the motorway and seen this in services, looked like a lorry, but;
It had a bit of a difference
Time for some service station rip off food. For some reason i found this ammusing..
Cash machines in england were a bit, err Different?
Drove for a while, then ended up stopping at about 4, and sleeping in the car in kendal.
Woke up about 3 hours later.. Sooooooooooooooo cold!! So we carried on southwards.
Sunrise
Then it got really misty
Arrived at Mcdonalds car park (where we were to meet andy andy and the other boy) at about 9.30, about an hour early.
Then andy took the wheels, and we had to figure how best to get everything in the car:
Had a good chat about the usual car stuff
So off we went back up the road, spotted a hummer
Then a strange looking works of some sort, looked like something out a harry potter film.
The corsa was loaded up as it was, then i heard back from a guy with some nova sri seats. I had enquired about them, and since he was in kendal, met him at junction 36, and they were purchased and loaded into a rather packed corsa.
Had a good chat with the guy (novaload member) and also had a visit from the old bill while loading the seats in (looking like some thieving pikeys)
Ahh, back in good old scotland
Stopped at his flat in glasgow for a wee bit, then headed back to oban.
Arrived back in oban at around 6pm on sat, Good time, as kenny weas having a party for his bday at 8, I went back to mine for a shower (and half hour of sleep) before going back to the party.
All in was a good weekend
