Wow, I didn't think I hadn't touched the corsa for as long as I have ha!

I have been really busy with college and that so time has been limited as has the weather being a bitch.

I have managed to buy some faux suede to retrim the headlining and getting that out was ok but the sunroof piece that slides back was a bitch.

Getting the headlining out was fine, I know it breaks easily so I had to be real careful. Out in one piece anywho!

This is where it got difficult. From what it appeared to be, I had to take the sunroof out completely, cheers for the nice day God.
It dropped onto my head so I had to get the seats to prop it up while I got out and took it out the boot!
Then there was the task of figuring out which bit to take out and that but it was quite simple.

First of all take the sunroof and max it out on tilt. Next take the two star bolts out that are hiding on the plastic that makes it stop.
You can then pop the slider off the runners and bingo...you are done.

Gonna re-trim these by next weekend or on the weekend as I have a massive project in for Thursday.
Should be real cosy when done !

I would have taken pictures however it looked like rain so I was in a rush !

I'm sure we were all guilty of either wanting to have a kitted up corsa or actually having one!

I've had white gsi through the veins although I did at one point want a corsa with ridiculous arches lol.

I'm currently looking at replacing various parts on the engine and have come up with this list so far.

Big ends where from ?
Little ends where from ?
VSO seals sorted
Water pump where from ?
head and sump gasket where from ?
head bolts arp

Should I change the valves ?

I am wanting some fast road cams and am looking at autosprint ones on exchange. Should I get anything else to go with these while the engines out? As I'm looking at getting R1 carbs after February, do I need to get any particular kind ?

Looking at getting the injectors cleaned also and should I get a powercap or ecopipe with plate ?

cheers

Parts wise, I rebuilt mine with aftermarket bits gasket wise.

Valves, no need to change them, just check they are all straight - if needs be I can post you my valve compressors. Just lap them back in. (assuming guides etc are fine)

Cam wise i believe they are reprofiled jobbies so they will put extra work on the lifters, best ask them if they are a hydraulic lifter cam but I assume they are off what I have read as they havent advised otherwise?

Powercap needs the bulkhead to be chopped, I personally went with a polished adaptor and the ecotech pipe, mine was £65 delivered from V-Tuning.

on the engine build side i was advised by a few places i phonned to use oem spec stuff. Beware of cheap shells etc as theres plenty out there. Your best bet i would say is to phone around and speak to as many suppliers as you can and get advise and prices from all of them.

Prices i got were:

Big ends - £22
Little ends - Check them first as most of the time these are not needed
VSO seals - Usually come in head gasket kit
Water pump - Motor Factors £18 (trade price)
head and sump gasket I was told to use Elring (sp) gaskets as these are oem spec?

Head Gasket set - £35
Sump gasket set - £28

head bolts arp Personally i dont like ARP bolt and would rather but OEM spec ones £12

Would advise you do the lifters to, If your getting a cam kit they should be supplied with it other than that i was advised to use either BGA, INA or Ijuca (not sure on spelling) and a full set of lifters was £95

You dont list:

Main bearings - £25 was advised to use KS winston
Piston rings - £60

Most of this was advised and priced from Pistons and Components local to me and is all +VAT. They were gonna do me a full rebuild kit posted to my door for £460 inc. VAT
