MkI is the **** you know...![]()
a pic:
Started to look for my 'bearings' my my camshafts, couldn´t locate them.![]()
So i looked in my scrapbox and found a lot of others.
took me 3 hours to get the cams to spin freely...![]()
also did some measuring on valve heights,, they are a couple of tenth´s off alignment.
Maybe the hydraulic tappets 'swollow' it?
as most 0.5mm to high, that one i´ll grind off a little thou.
I´ll call Enem in Sweden to hear what 'Janne Carneborn' has to say about it.
Have a nice one mates,,,
And,, don´t worry guys about the 'play' in the bearings.
I tested them all with Plastiguage to get them correct.

are dynoing the engine or rolling road or just a asre dyno?
Great project is it 650bhp you are aiming for? HAve you got any more info on your block? Which model Frontera is it from? where can I find out more about its short comings? Does it come with the girdle as standard?
Thanks
James
Hi James, Thanks for the words.
I´m aiming for 600+ and 650+ is only a bonus.
It´s not equipped with an girdle as standard.
honestly,, if my calculations are correct it will sniff on 700hp,, but,, something can be totally wrong although i don´t think so.
I flowed a head to an Audi 3b this winter.
That engine has the same setup as mine only a cylinder more and little bit less volume.
It has the most greatest curve i´ve ever seen on an Audi 20v engine, those ones uses to rev like bitches and no boost under 5000rpm..
This one has full boost at 3500rpm´s and got full power at slightly underneeth 7000rpm.
Almost like an std engine but really really pissed off.
little info about that Audi:
1.85bars of boost(they got problem with amalvalve) should have got´n closer to 700hp with 2,1-2,2bars of boost.
Fullboost at 3500rpm(locked on dyno)
Fullboost at 4000rpm(simulated run on dyno)
With this engine we aimed for 600+,, you could say we had a little bonus...

Head had been bolted on and now the manufacturing takes place for the manifold and all the tubing,, the fun stuff
all bearings and guides has been lubricated with Redline 'break in oil'
Cheers![]()

work looks very well too on the mk1, should be good see some vids of that![]()
GT3520R .82 should see 400-600bhp.
What bar are you lookiing at running it at, as the specs look like it wont be any good unless it get 1.3 bar min.
