Hi, still really enjoying this thread! The liner fix sounds like an interesting approach I havn't seen before. One thing, I think you mean to use a "clock" just for clarity. Please don't take that as a dig because your english is very good As Gav says, pics are always good!

to see if liners are flexing when screwing in the screws.

First off, Drilling a whole lot of holes:



Second: Tapping



Then the threadlocker and sealer(not a seal, but i´ve used it befor to seal and it works perfectly)



next onto a test how much torque on screws before the liner starts to flex, screwed in 5pcs on one liner 7Nm and gauge didn´t move, good enough!!
Then i locked all 6 at 6Nm with loctite.



result:




This is an classic mod used in the states before different companies started to cast better engineblocks.
Now if the liner would like to flex, it has to push out the outer wall on the block too.
Should stop it

Now just a cleanup and then start to bolt it together again.

Quick 1 Patrick,shouldnt the ram pipes "lips" should touch all the way to the bottom of the aly sheet and not having that gap underneeth,or doesnt matter,iam asking cause in my nissan inlet built,they look like yours ,with less gap though,and i got another set that was panning of "planting" them all the way down,what you think?

i´ve been working houses chimney,, finally done.. it was i minor h_ll to complete.
Installed a stainless hose into the chimney to get it leak free.

anyway some pics of manifold i´m building.

I´ve been promised the exhausthousing this week,, let us all keep our fingers crossed or something to bring me luck.
I can then start to build exhaustmanifold, the one i started to build befor has gone the drain as my plans changed a bit when i bougt the GT3582r turbo.

I have found it easier for the air to deliver more equal over the runners if you do it like i have done.
if you do the way you suggest the inlet will flow more, but with the cost of that it may deliver air differently over the runners.
that is really bad if you want to receive big numbers on huge boost.(lots of air running)
often it is the runner in the back from inlet in plenum that receives the most mass of air then. = no good!

wouldnt plann more than 400 on a gt2876 and max 1.9 bar,my gap its about 1.5cm,should i leave it like that?

I´m having small plans to take it to Gatebil on Mantorp maybe, but in my eye´s it ain´t worth killing for

just looked at the OEM cossie inlet,and yes they look that they have this "gap" from stock,so i think i leave them like that,and not "shave" them,so the can touch the inlet back space if not needed then.

Yes, exactly. or either way help it to keep up with more pressure.

When are you coming and where will you be going. There are plenty motorsport events happening all the time.

If i´m going i´ll be living in the area of Johannesburg, working for ABB.
It´s planned for leaving here late february or early march.
And i´ll be down there for about a month or so.

I've never heard of this being done before, have you got any links to other people that have done it? I've tried searching but I can't find anything like it.

Yes,, Ford Engineers might just be a little bit smarter than us..
so if you look at that manifold you are on the correct path.

Like pas chill said also the nascar dyno day is on the 5 march with some pretty strong cars, and there should be some events at tartlton to, but ill suggest going to the nascar dyno day which is hosted by the opel owners
