Today a friend of mine dynoed his engine.
The C20LET engine is located in an Omega B.

I ported and flowed the head. and modified his inletmanifold as it was a 'mess'

this is the result from 584rwhp: (take notice about that new power also is rwhp)


a little bit of tuning made 116hp
The new problem that went up is that valvesprings doesn´t keep up.
they had to quit dyno at 7krpm, you can see the powerline still heading upwards.
with a little more boost they might have gained abount 50-60hp more
that would have been about 850hp in the engine... really fecking cool sistas and brothas...

The engine is almost a copy of mine.
but with only 2 litres and a little bit smaller valves, i´ve got 34.5/31 he got 34/30, but the head is almost a copy of mine,, as it was me who did it
a little bit smoother camshafts.

nothing special about the engine, just an ordinare simple tune.
Std LET crank
H profile rods
JE pistons
26x/11mm lift on cam
SC 6265 turbo
China IC
tubular exhaustmanifold.
'swedish style' inletmanifold.
Uprated oilpump(my old one)

Yes i´ve been really busy porting heads this winter. it was almost insane for a moment.
I had to say no to keep up with promised delivery.

My Astra is going through some minor updates.
Z20let oilpump
modified oildelivery to mains to get more stable oilpressure at the conrods.

the grinded out area is to feed the mainbearning through more holes through the bearing.
i have also drilled the feedchannel from mainoilchannel out to 7.5mm from 6.3mm
And on the outside of the block, just above the starter i have routed a new line to get more area to feed the 7.5mm channels.

And i might buy a turbo like the one in my friends omega, just to get my head to flow the amount that it´s supposed to

If you don´t feel nervous about shipping your heads over here to Sweden.
I can offer you the same work i done on the just dynoed head.

yup.. leave them spot on, and go for a freeflowing air and exhaustsystem.
a tubular manifold and a healthy turbo, maybe a GT3076.
if you got the goods in the bottom as H-rods etc etc you can go for 2bar and look at about 500hp+

Hello Phil.

There´s no need for that smooth surface actually.
I just wanted to take pictures that looked 'pimp'

in the 700rwhp engine the surface is about 60 grit paper(or what it is called)

Thanx for advice. I have two mitsu TD04H-13c turbos on my xe and custom intake , and i just assembled my mates engine and it has tubular manifold a gt2860rs and stock intake. Everything else is pretty similar. Its just that mine makes boost almost the same rpm and it feels a lot better offboost , not to mention on boost

What kind on double valvesprings do you use? I was also planning to use double valvesprings, but so far I haven´t found anything reasonable. Do you have combined Opel ones or is the thinner spring some other company's production?
Why do you suggest keeping original c20xe engines camshafts?
I agree that inlet camshaft would be better from c20xe engine, but isn´t the c20let engine "turbo" outlet camshaft better?

I used some springs that i cannot recomend any one else to use.

I´m going to use Volvo springs actually.
And why i recomend using XE camshafts. it´s simply because they can be stretched to about 700hp and still got a very broad curve.
And when getting this much power inside the cylinders,, you don´t want to use the restrictive LET camshaft.. it pure Yuck!!

A little update:



These are bodies from BMW E36 M3
They measure 50mm in diam. and almost fits perfect on my head.
I´ll just manufacture an 10mm adapterplate between head and manifold.

Yesterday my friends Omega wen´t BOOM!!!
This is the result:


we´re trying to rebuild it, but i´ve got a couple of questions for you guys.

First,, are there any 'bad quality valves' on the market in UK?
Theese ones were stainless 34/30mm valves and they were bought from UK.
And second, are there any reseller of JE-pistons that you might know of, that sells pistons one on one, not a complete set?
