Lee303:
This is really really interesting.
Do you have any info about the price?
I have already told Johan and he is interested ofcourse, but it could be cool to know in what area the prize tag is before we mail such a well known company.

Elgan: yes it is.
he is swedens fastest astra as we speak, maybe even the worlds fastest astra MKII. but you have to make evolution to keep it that way![]()
tack sa mycket galna svensken for att jag for lana din trad
thats swedish for:
thank you insade swede for letting me borrow your thread![]()
hi lee, sounds intresting, I´m asuming that the touring har spec heads from swindon are reversed then or is it possible to get them in std way?
the btcc heads were reversed and the wtcc chevy is oem way I think![]()
I dont think it´s worth the money to go reversed, especially not in my type of racing. to much cash and work comparing to the small differences it really does.
I would be more than happy if there is a possibility for bigger inlet ports.
I have heard rumors of one single man from GB somewhere who should put sleeves in the redtop heads, but i can´t really find him or anything more, so maybe it´s just another rumor![]()
I´ll send an email to Eric Pasture @ swindon, I´ve spoken a little bit with him one year ago I think, they seem to have very yummu yummy things in their "factory"![]()
JG, just out of interest what size valves are you running currently?
Cam specs aswell please mate.
Apologies for hi-jacking the thread Patrick![]()
"THE ROB"
j_g make a new thread with pics and details of your car. would love to know a bit more about your engine spec too.

could u please put your vids on photobucket?
work has banned youtube :-(
Turbo Nova
can´t you try look at them at a friends house or something?
nothing really new has happened.
have been sorting out som few bugs.
Cracked inletmanifold
adjusted cranktriggers position (wasn´t 117degree, it was 124)
cleaned up the 'base map' in ECU,,, runs a lot smoother now.
Are wainting for gasstations to get 'summer E85' in stock.
At winter here they are actually running 'E75'
Then it might get close to a rollingroad session
but first i have to weld a little in oilpan..
was out taking a spin yesterday,, BAM!!!! the pan hit a bump in the road,, leaks oil now.
But it´s an easy fix.
here´s a pic from yesterday after the run,
If you look really really close you can see a thin darker line behind the car on the ground.
that is oil..
![]()
No,, not blown.. just cracked due to engine vibrations.
and it is one of the welds i haven´t done.
it´s between the chopped std manifold and the new runners, i had a 'pro' doing those welds.. well.. i should have done them myself *lol*
lmao Fair enough! Are you optimistic then? Everything's going well?
It looks very impressive in the photos!
Teeth? LUXURY! When I was a child we ate by putting rocks in our mouth and jumping up and down.
Yes,, everything is smooth as silk,, well almost anyway.
I´m heading now for the garage to repair the tray and mount the 4.7Ohm resistors in line with the injectors to protect the ECU.
Then i´ll map a little idle to get no variations in rpm when idling.
small bugsorting before rolling road.
you know,, the funstuff.![]()
I guess this is the sort of stuff that is never finished though. You could spend years doing little things to the car and it will never really be "finished".![]()

i love this car, carnt wait until its mapped and see the vids but i guess you carnt either lol
i miss my vauxhalls breaking down
Turbo Nova
Stay tuned, it might be new videos tomorrow
however, did some work today and noticed one cool thing.
This is a bracket for the driverchair.
i bended that alupiece to hard and it cracked, i welded it.
now it has cracked again due to hard acceleration *YEAH!*
Then i glued the resitors to an aluplate with some kind of heattransfering epoxi glue:
just tested if the engine would start:
Now i´ll just build a bracket to mount everything nice and firmly on A-pillar.
and hide it with original panel.
Thanks for the nice response by the way all you guys![]()
Sorry guys,, no vids..
i found a problem to solve.
the brackets made for rear diff were to weak, i have found cracks in them,, OOOPSS..
There are more forces involved than i expected.
This is somehow planned,, that it should accur some construction after testdriving, i have been trying to make eveything as light as possible so ofcourse it can be to weak in some places.
the front mountings on the diff is working fine, it was the rear bracket that died.
Well,, I´ll fix that.![]()
Get some photos up, I'm quite interested in the rear setup.![]()
Teeth? LUXURY! When I was a child we ate by putting rocks in our mouth and jumping up and down.
I haven´t touched the car for about a week, have been finishing some audiheads so i can lay all the time on the astra.
I don´t have any pics as we speak on reasdiffs mountings, but i´ll take some when i reinforce them.
otherwise it hasn´t happened much at all.
Just straightened the hood hingings so it will fit nicely again after it went open in about 55Mph
And bought a new windscreen, but haven´t mounted that yet, i need to do some bodywork on the panel behind the hood and underneeth the windscreen.
then we might be back on track again![]()
lmao at snapping the welds on the seat mountings because of acceleration![]()

Disaster!!!..
but no major
have been out punishing the car a bit.
tested a nought to 60Mph and further on.. when slammin in the 4th gear,, the engine went suddenly 3 cylindrich.... *nailbiter*
well well,, took an compressiontest,, cylinder 2 totally dead!!! *nailbiter x 10*
in rage and anger i just dismounted the head in about 10 minutes.
and found a hydrauliclifter siezed in some way.
ahh.. good to find that there haven´t been any contacts anywhere.
butt when engines apart, i´ll just update the cylinderblock with pianowire around the cylinders.
and try to sort out the porous problem,, it has been fixed before with an insert, but the engine gets oil in coolingwater.
I´ll also update the valve angels too for some more flow at low lift on valves.
Rgds
Patrick
surprised your not on solids with this spec tbh, at least its fixable! i can reccomend these guys if you're having problem with gasket sealing
