Any more pics of the 8v head? I've tried a similar chamber, based on the Esslinger 2.3 Pinto ARCA head...
Sorry for all the questions

Hello.
The manifold i fabricate will have 550mm primarypipes and 130mm secondary pipes.
It will be in 4-2-1 version to help enhance engings lower rpm, and as for the long tubes is also because of my 272 degree special grinded camshafts.
The bottom end is containing +5mm arrowrods and woessnerpistons
the stroke is 95.4mm and the bore is 87mm , i have also a 10mm studgirdle to help keep things together at this long stroke.
And yes it´s based on an X22XE engine.
too bad the 8v head is so long ago i ported so the other pics i took are gone.
But yes it is similar to that Ford head.
no worries mate on the questions.

| Thats some mental manifold, going to lose a hell of a lot of heat being so big surely?

| no problem with loosing het.
stainless and wrapped with bandage keeps the heat in.
it might just take about 0.1seconds more to heat it up.. |

| very smart, what made you choose that balance between inlet and exhaust valve size?

but honestly more 'gutfeeling'
My 2.3 litre engine wouldn´t have any 'upper' rpm scale with std valvesizes.
the thought about my engine is that it should be a 'heaviley' tuned NA engine.
and then turbo on that (Almost like todays WRC engines)
My calculations is that it would produce easily 230hp with no boost at this state.
and that is on fairly low rpms,, somewhere around 6000rpm.
it might get hard to get proper gasflow/speed you might think when running this big valves.
But my calculations and gutfeeling tells me that increased volume in engine would have reached Mach1 quite quickly with std dimensions.(no good)
Hope thats a good answer

almost.. it´s a Sachs twinplate 200mm '960Nm' clutch.
bought it very cheap, made for Saab.. changed the hubs in the discs, this way it was very cheap. |
