man that is one sexy engine bay!!!!!!!!!!!! and those boost pipes are bigger than my drain pipes on my house
hehe.. the bigger the pipe the bigger the.........
anyways.
I got a little bit worried about valveclearance to pistons due to my oversized valves.
so i had to dismount the head to check.
Can´t rest without knowing exactly.
but there was no worries.
i had 3.5mm 'axial' and 1.3mm 'radial'.
so.. i´m calm again.![]()
i did check it.
but i didn´t check the 'radius' clearance.
I used 'clay' that childrens play with..
what is it called? Play doh?
LEAVE ME ALONE!!!!!!!!!! i think i just went happy on my pants.
Could please tell me your Y! Messenger adress so i can ask 1 milion questions???
I have in my mind a C20LET conversion to my little Opel Kadett.
hehe
U-Tuning:
i dunno if i can find the time to answer one million questions... kind of..
here are a couple of pics.
started to 'tidy up' with colours in engine bay(didn´t like the blue vomits on the hoses, every hose will be black.)
And a mockup for the oildrain from the turbo:

It´s been a while since i was here.
But the work still progresses.
Today i received the missing siliconehoses now theyre all black.
I also bought 'heavy duty' clamps for the hoses.
And i also have built a bracket for fuelpump to get it rigid.
and also again bought the belt in right dimenson for the pump.
The remaning stuff now my friends arent much at all.
2 Opel/vauxhall cranksensors(will buy the coming week)
mapsensor(a friend borrowed mine and burned it,he ows me that one)
fill water in cooling system
fill oil in engine and gearbox
build the fuelhoses
setup my DTA S60pro
buy sparkplugs(one step colder than std)
As you can see my plans for startup in the end of February is going as planned.
no pics today, but i can shoot some tomorrow.
Rgds.
2 Opel/vauxhall cranksensors? why two?
I'm louder than gods own revolver and twice as shiney.
One for the crank the other one for the camshaft.
Ah ok,
I'm louder than gods own revolver and twice as shiney.
It´s starting too look a little bit serious
built a bracket for pump and bought new belt:
This is where i welded the BOV:
Pressurehose from Turbo to IC:
Oil and water to turbo:
Built up oilpressure today.. things are going as planned
Rgds

Fantastic thread. Really enjoying the write up's and especially the photo's.![]()
It´s got pulse.........![]()
proof of life!!
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, thoroughly used, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming... "f*ck, what a trip!"
Bloody hell!!!
This still fwd?
That is one SERIOUS looking engine.![]()
here´s this weekends work:
harness in nice looking something(dunno the word)
and one more from other side:
have spent a couple of minutes on the pipes, brushed alu and painted the 'airfilterhorn' black.
![]()
Are you going to fit a cam belt cover?
nope..
just a 'spiess' variant.
![]()
well done mate, every time I look at you write up I get more inspiration and a head full of ideas.
Can not wait for the first video and report on hp, you must be bursting to know the outcome yourself!?

Looks great dude, almost ready for a drive then...
Would scare me not having a cam belt cover on with such a speced up engine..
Loom looks good, very tidy.

The word maybe: OEM or motorsport spec?
you can get that braided covering in different bore
sizes to suit the number of cables you have,
i.e your injectors will have 2 or 3max so you need
small bore to make it look better fitting.
here's one i made.
